The amount of injuries theyve over come this season is severely overlooked. Within the first few weeks they lost their top 3 wr's and 2 of their starting rb. Then lost more wr and arguably the best kicker in the league. Dhop and kelce are great but both older and dhop took a few weeks to learn the system. They were literally relying on a rookie wr, udfa rb and a 35 year old TE. Any QBs numbers would be down playing with guys like that but not many qbs would be 12-1 in that situation.

Don't forget the left tackle situation. They were relying on a rookie second rounder, then a still injured Wanya Morris, and finally, they brought in a guy well past his prime coming off a big-time injury. They have the worst left tackle situation in the entire NFL, and their right tackle situation isn't much better. If you look at all the QBs with a terrible offensive line, Mahomes is one of only two QBs with a winning record out of the 10 worst offensive lines based on analytics. Not only a winning record, but the best record in the AFC and tied for the best in the entire NFL.

The Chiefs are like that character in a video game that has average stats, but then has the most broken ability in the entire game. We can call it X factor where they can make important plays when it matters. This X factor has cooldown so they can’t use it every single play, but it does get a boost in red zone or 2 minute situations. Mahomes and Kelce are the key players that make this work overcoming deficiencies on the offensive line and the receiving core. This is why you doubt the Chiefs at your own peril.

KC had similar issues back in DBowe's day. Bowe could wrong-foot the defender and based on that, make his break to whichever side the defender wasn't. This wasn't always clear to the QB or even to Bowe, until the defender committed. Cassel couldn't throw with anticipation, because he never knew where Bowe was going to go. Reid cleaned this up with Alex Smith and by reducing Bowe's role, and making Bowe run the route as intended, at full speed. Bowe's drop rate plummeted and he became the 3rd down possession receiver he was meant to be. Fans hated Bowe's drop in production, but I thought his last two years with the Chiefs were his best. Very efficient. Very few drops. Very few miscommunications. Lots of 3rd-down conversions. For years, Bowe was boom or bust. So they force-fed him the ball, hoping for something good to happen, and the fact was that when Bowe made a few early catches, KC almost always won the game.

@@jacobrobinson2299The Eagles are going to be a hard team for the Lions to beat. The Lions have struggled vs the run with all their injuries. They are relying heavily on blitzes to generate a pass rush, too. As for the Lions' offense vs the Eagles' defense, the Eagles have a great cover 3 defense. It makes them good vs the run, and it makes them good vs the pass. It's a hard defense to run because it requires a lot of talent, but they have the talent to do it. The Lions won't be able to rely on chunk plays vs the Eagles. They will have to slowly trickle the ball down the field. When they have been forced to do that, their offense commits turnovers. Look at Goff vs the Texans, a much weaker defense, for example. Goff wants to push the ball down the field at least once or twice every drive. If he tries that vs the Eagles, he will risk turnovers

2022 Vikings were a healthy average team getting wins from 4th quarter variance in the regular season. Chiefs are not healthy but still have one of the best QBs in the league keeping things stable on offense despite shortcomings on receivers and O-line. One thing the Chiefs are amazing at is not committing enough pre-snap penalties so its not killing them the entire game. As well as being able to execute in all facets of game including special teams. So the Chiefs always look good when the positive 'luck' plays out for them in comparison to bum ass teams. Finally if the Chiefs can get fully healthy by January, they are definitely a much better team than those fraudulent Vikings.

@@LucasSChiefsLightning They did the same when Brady was playing. If a team consistently wins close games, it isn't luck. People just can't grasp the fact that KC plays bad most of the game every game they have played this year. Despite them playing bad and making a lot of mistakes, opposing teams have failed to generate a big enough lead to make it matter. When the game is close, the Chiefs tend to lock in. It's almost like they pace themselves the first 3.5 quarters of the game, then they lock-in for the final 7 minutes or so of the game. Like Brady said, 'The Chiefs are like his Pats back in the day.
