The cost of those cables and the kid is using a box cutter to strip back the wire.... am I missing something here?
@TheJorgen77 Жыл бұрын
combined with that the extraction suction doesn't work despite after 3 attempts.. nevertheless i like the cable the video is crap :-D

This video has not given me the impression that Chord’s top tier cable’s represent good value for money at all.
@tech4life884 Жыл бұрын
Being a company you would think you'd have wire strippers instead of making your employees cut the cables one layer at a time manually. It would save you money as a company.

what's the point in having braiding and foil if you're not grounding it, also, they are called cable strippers, use them.

if speakers run on AC why do audio companies freak out about the "direction"?
@hidjedewitje6 жыл бұрын
Because it confuses customers and it can make them believe that directional cables are better. While in reality it makes no difference.
@isettech6 жыл бұрын
Most people use the term Polarity for the marking on a cable. Speaker phase is important. Using the term direction instead of Polarity indicates minimal understanding of the technology. What use is the braid if it is not connected on either end? The double braid may be a low AWG than the center conductor. They might get better low resistance using the braid instead of the center conductor.

I just received the China version of the Kimber 12tc cable. It’s the same conductors, multi strand multi gauge wire, $8/m as opposed to $50+. I got it because it looks cool, worth every penny;)

I think the next time I interview a job candidate, I will ask the person how much they spent on their speaker cables. Guess who won't be getting a job.
@davejones47407 жыл бұрын
From my experience, this person is inexperienced. Natural flow follows when you have been making cables or crossovers. I used to work in the industry.

I actually own these cables... Before you guys start rubbishing Chord I suggest you actually LISTEN TO THEIR PRODUCTS !!! ONLY THEN are you qualified to leave adverse comments !!!!!!!!!!!!

Good answer.

I knew this video was crap when you said "our senior technician..." and the camera moved to reveal a kid. Speaker cables don't have a sound, so a clamp will not affect the sound. Please stop posting these ridiculous videos and go read some engineering books.
@beyondonethousand8 жыл бұрын
I think this is well built cable and the clamp is to secure the two leads parallel to one another however thumbs up to your comment about " the senior technician." I don't think this outfit is affiliated with Chord amplifiers or are they? I wonder who would be the junior technicians . I'm sure the guy who is building this cable is good at his craft.
@markjsound8 жыл бұрын
It does look like a well designed and built cable that is pretty durable. That should be their selling point not the sound.

Snakeoil. Go to Monoprice.com for all your cable needs.

Monoprice are cheap crap. There is such thing as too cheap.

Why do you con people into thinking speaker cable is going to make a difference to the actual sound quality.
@beyondonethousand8 жыл бұрын
All these companies con audiophiles. I own an Anthem Statement P5 multichannel power amplifier and Synergistic as well as Shunyata, among many others, have interconnects from pre/pro to amp more expensive than the amp itself promising sonic Nirvana. Go figure.
@hidjedewitje6 жыл бұрын
Yes, cable impedance is pretty much the only thing that effects the sound quality of speaker cables. The rest is just looks and builtquality.

Yeah ok i just bought materials and built my own . I dont think i will ever buy pre made cables anymore the prices are really stupid these days dont get fooled dont support high priced cables its a con mans sales pitch to empty you wallet if you fall for it.

now we were able to see how marketing can do !??! CHORD do NOT produce cable, they just assemble cable and sell to us like an outstanding cable. too many award for Chord and Qed, and now i really ask my self how much money they spend to buy a star in a hifi magazine? As far as i can find, a STAR costs around 3000 euros, so.....again, what marketing does to us !??!
@lovesmusic55042 жыл бұрын
Wrong again!! They do make cable !! Clearway & above is made in their factory in the U.K. !!!

Signature range in 2007, The most amazing cables I have ever heard. It was like turning on another system!! the soundstage became massive in every dimension, detail was incredible. I can't remember the model numbers of the Musical Fidelity CD, Pre & power amp Kit used But If I had the money.... I will just have to be satisfied with my chameleon interconnects and rumour 2 speaker cable.!

Shoddy company if they can’t give Simon the correct tools fir the job? I use better and more efficient tools than he does. He hand builds cables for a living, taken years to train up to his current standard and he does NOT have a cable stripper? Get a grip Chord.
