"Lollipop" is a pop song written by Julius Dixson and Beverly Ross in 1958. It was first recorded by the duo Ronald & Ruby-Ross herself was "Ruby"-and then covered more successfully by The Chordettes. The Chordettes version reached #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1958. It is a firm favourite among barbershop singers.

My grandma played this for me when I was a kid, I have a strong memory of it. My grandma passed away last October and I have been thinking about this song and her calling me Lilly (a nickname she gave me that isn't even close to my name) I miss you grandma

2024 and driving with my husband if 45 years and he started singing this sonic pulled my phone out and looked it up surprised him by blasting it inthe car as he drove in the rain he smiled big and did the popping sound perfectly! Mad me giulike a kid we can still surprise each other with silly little things. He had no idea I had this app on my phone! Surprise surprise meester G! lol I have a whole library of songs saved from you tube. I’m not that lame with aps.I have lots of tricks up these ok sleeves! Lol

Saw a horror film when I was a young fellow. It was a scene when a doctor performed surgery on a young boy and this song was played during the scene. Loved it ever since. Last member of The Chordettes passed away in 2020.

Marjorie Latzko is definitely still alive, she must be now 93 or 94. Carol Buschmann is very likely still alive as well, she must be around 95 now? The Chordettes changed their members few times, and as such Carol is not on this video, but Marjorie is - she is the third lady counting from the left :)

My Grandpa and Grandma danced this at our old house in 1967! But then my mom and dad danced at the same house in 1991! After that, I can dance by myself! My family teached me how to dance the song! What a good memory.

It’s Andy Williams in the video, but from what I gather, he was not on the recording. One of the Chordettes made the popping sound. Also, it looks like the hand clapping in the video is “done” by the Everly Brothers. It’s hard to tell without HDTV.

Smile 2022 end credits, awesome way to end a horror movie with a pleasant 50s song. They did the same thing in Barbarian 2022 with Be My Little Baby (which also ended season 3 of Bates Motel 2015). It is becoming a trend in horror movies and I love it.

This is quite a bit before my time and I understand this. When I was 11 and 12 years old there was a commercial that advertised a toys for girls called "Dolly Pops" It sounds like this song is the origin for the 1980 commercial from Knicker Bocker advertising Dolly Pops. It's pretty neat to find that an old song like this is the origin for a TV commercial.
