I'm a descendant of enslaved people from Africa. And I am getting tired of the constant focus on the struggles of my ancestors when something positive about black culture is being CELEBRATED. Maybe its because I'm not a black American. I am black Dutch. 😂that's not even a term in my country. I'm just dutch. With afro carribean parents. I didn't grow up with white people. And I celebrate the resilience and beauty of my 'skin-folk'. I would find it insulting to my ancestor to use a moment of celebration as an opportunity to mention their suffering to satisfy your own need: to get likes on youtube. Music and dance is for everybody.

And even then the black influence on the world's creativity goes far beyond Black America. Reggaeton was created by Jamaican Panamanians and filtered through to all of Latin America, modern rap originates from Jamaicans 'toasting' as they did back home but continued this once some of them emigrated to the States (most of the originators of hiphop are West Indian), Samba dance and samba music, which then influenced bossa nova and other Brazilian and jazz rhythms, all originate from Afro Brazilian slaves etc. I haven't even covered the direct African influences that the globe now uses for artistic expression. Our legacy as a diaspora is inspiring😍
