All of our faith is ones responsiblity to now go and learn. if your letting the chosen dictate and be what you gage your faith on, and is a replacement for church or the bible is lazy and your not a true Christian anyway. I believe if the lord is calling you he will continue to do so but it's our responsibility to answer. Anyway if your not catholic your not true to the original early Christian faith . Catholicism was THE church and only church 2,000 years ago has always been from the beginning with peter. So anyone who isnt catholic which means receives the eucharist daily mass daily you are not real authentic Christians. I love her liberties on how she knows jesus was beyond recognition negating the shroud lol. Her statement is not scriptural. And if we use scripture as in you say about images please get rid of your cross neacklace and all your pictures of your child on the wall. I get your concern but perhaps say this chosen came out when you were in your wichcraft days . This could have helped you see how important jesus is. And you decided to go to church because of it . Dont limit gods power or the holy spirit and how he moves in ones life. Not saying this to be hurtful just hoping to add a perspective on this situation. GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU ALWSYS.

I'm so happy to hear someone not afraid to speak the truth. The problem with so many Christians today is that they get offended when someone points out Biblical Truth against something they love. It doesn't matter if it's spiritually dangerous and against Scripture. They just want to do what they want to do and expect God to be ok with it. It's the "How dare you judge or correct me" attitude. They don't care that they're following a false Jesus because it makes them feel good. PRAY FOR DISCERNMENT PEOPLE!

@_JellyDonut_ Жыл бұрын
@@ce3547 You shouldn't be offended by her comments. Christians are allowed to disagree about things like this. I think there are good arguments on both sides. I can certainly understand why someone would think it's dangerous to portray the life of Jesus in a movie, especially when doing so requires the writers to fill in gaps with their own content. The person who feels this way shouldn't watch the show. I'm reminded of James 4:17 which says "whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin." If you choose not to watch I completely respect that, it's definitely the safer approach to err on the side of caution. At the same time I can see how some people, especially those who are solid in their faith and knowledge of scripture, would be encouraged by seeing it brought to life on screen. I would put myself in this category. I wouldn't say every moment or episode moved me but there were parts that were an incredible blessing and caused me to overflow with love for my Savior. I wouldn't have hesitated to stop watching if I came across anything that twisted or distorted the gospel. I would point to Romans 14 to support the idea that it's up to each of us to decide how to handle situations like this, provided we don't cause another to stumble.

She wanted to get my opinion afterward. I told her that I would watch it. It took me a while to do so, I really didn't want to because I had this feeling that this would just be another show depicting a secular version of Jesus which is far from the biblical depiction on him. I got to the part where autistic Matthew is helping Jesus write the sermon in the Mount and I said in my mind, this is heresy. Scripture does not tell us that Jesus needed to do sermon prep. So many things in the show take away from the deity of Christ. This TC Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible.

This video just confirms what I've been feeling for a while. Especially ever since their deliberate controversial publicity stunts with the "devil" apparently slandering the show, which is meant to create curiosity ons non-believers. And when the viewers complained, in stead of backing off, Dallas defended it and refused to remove these ads. Which really made me think it started revolving more around the numbers of viewers they could get to the show, rather than really, sincerely trying to reach people with the gospel. And the way fans are reacting on the fan pages, literally idolising the cast and referring to J.Roumie as "our Jesus" and a hot Jesus, or saying that they are actually picturing his face when they are praying (which is hard not to if you've watched the show) just made me realise that they are taking the wrong things away from the show. If you don't know to test the spirit and not take the show as gospel, so to speak, it is going to mislead a lot of people who really need Jesus. I myself really loved the show in the beginning but I've been feeling more and more convicted about watching it.

I was introduced to you recently while watching an interview with you on CBN. I really appreciated your testimony and everything you had to say during that interview. So I began watching your channel recently and I appreciate it as well. I began my journey into the occult unfortunately at the age of six, playing with a Ouija Board and that is what first opened my soul to the occult. Sadly, it was just the beginning and I soon began experiencing many more demonic encounters and was then led by a spirit guide into deeper darkness that held me captive. I was deceived into thinking that I had these supernatural powers of dreams, pre-cognition, clairvoyance, prophecy, telepathy, telekinesis, etc. But the truth is, I didn’t have the powers; the powers had me. I am very thankful to God for His gift of eternal life, which I received when I heard the true gospel when I was 19 years old. I did accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior at that time and I had to go through deliverance shortly thereafter as well, in order to break chains in my life from my involvement in the occult. Having said this, I believe you and your guest are off base in coming against Dallas Jenkins and The Chosen. You and your guest may believe that any image that is displayed on a screen is an engraved image, and therefore an idol. If this is your belief, I will not criticize you for holding to this belief. You need to uphold your conscience and do what you believe is right. I however, agree with the apostle Paul, who said in I Corinthian 8 that “an idol is nothing.” In other words, you can make anything an idol, but that object in and of itself is not an idol unless you make it one. So if you believe that you are committing idolatry by watching a television program or movie, then you certainly should never view these things, because they are all forms of idolatry for you. I certainly agree that an actor who portrays a character on the screen or an athlete who demonstrates super human skills can become an idol to some people; but that is the sinful tendency of each individual person who idolizes that actor or athlete. It is not the sin of the actor or athlete. Personally, my wife and I got rid of the internet and cable television in 2014, not because we believed they were completely evil (although most movies and shows on television are evil, and certainly the internet has the capability of being used for good or evil), but because we just didn’t value these things very much and felt our money and time would be best spent on things that are of eternal value. Also, we took the money we were spending monthly on internet and cable television and we put that money to support missionaries in the field who were bringing the gospel to people. Regarding movies, television, social media platforms, like it or not, they are all tools that are used to preach to the masses. We as a culture are being preached to and preached at on a daily basis. And most of what is being preached and conveyed are lies and falsehoods and antithetical to the principles set out and established in the Bible. The Chosen is just one of many imperfect movie portrayals of the life and ministry of Jesus. It is a drama and yes, the writers, contributors and producer do go out of their way to show the human side of Jesus, so that people watching can identify with Jesus, that He wasn’t just some “being” walking around with a halo, who could not identify with us as individuals. And although the writers, contributors and director probably overly exaggerated and attributed some things to Jesus to make Him appear more human and at a few points got it wrong (such as Jesus rehearsing his Sermon on the Mount and asking Matthew for his input regarding this - that was lame and ridiculous, yes), which I disagree with and believe they got wrong, at the end of the day, it is a movie. Although they take artistic license in character development to depict things that may have happened, but which are not expressly written in the Bible, in order to give a human dimension to each character - a dimension that again, allows the viewers to be able to identify with them, well I believe this is what draws so many people to watch The Chosen and makes it so palatable. And through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, God has been able to take these, sometimes imperfect, but overall great portrayals, to open people’s hearts to the truth of the gospel and God’s insurmountable love. And this too is preaching the gospel. When you think about it, Jesus used parables to convey the truths of the kingdom and when a pastor preaches to his congregation on a Sunday morning, he may often use a story or an example (real or make believe) to drive home or convey his point, which he is making to convey the truth in the scripture. This is how I view The Chosen. So you and your guest can sit there and criticize and ridicule every aspect of The Chosen, and point out every lapse or mistake that is made in their attempt to convey the love of Jesus to people, just as many people do on a Sunday morning with their pastor’s sermon, but when you do this, I believe you are missing the point. I hope you will take my words of exhortation and just think about it. I believe The Chosen, though not perfect in every aspect, is contributing a much greater good in portraying the gospel to people (people who may not darken the doors of a church or who would not be open to listening to you quote scripture to them) than simply having characters portrayed as though they were simply reciting scripture. That’s just my two cents. God bless you in your ministry to awaken people to the truth of God’s Word and the dangers of the occult.

One of the biggest reasons I liked The Chosen was how they humanized the characters with a historical lense with their intense research. I had a friend who got baptised after watching the chosen , he said it changed his life , i did tell him it had stirred his emotions , what we need is change of heart and the Lords Spirit. Two years later my friend is struggling from self entitlement. I think the show focusses alot on the broken man, i watched the first episode and was very emotional. But i think in a way the series counters the popular superhero movies out there. Most kids think avengers are real.

🙏Ok so at first I was totally in agreement with you guys but then something doesnt sit right with me so I went on and do my own research. The problem is not with the Chosen, the problem is most people do not read their Bible. Nothing can replace the Bible, lets make that clear and no mistake about it. No one is perfect, I dont agree with everything about the Chosen but the goal of the Chosen is to allow unbelievers to see that Jesus is real and His followers and all the miracles He did back in the day is real, bringing to life. Now, there are a lot of events that is not in the Bible, a lot of well maybe this could happen, we dont know, so therefore its not the Bible, its a TV show where they try to capture more personality of what those people where like back in the day, how we can relate to their struggles and such. Can the show bring people to Christ? Absolutely, why not? Can the show save people? Absolutely no, but it can lead a person into wanting to get to know Jesus. God uses people, let me give u an anology. If an unbeliever happen to listen to a Christian song, and it touches them and some how God lead that person to Jesus and wanting to read the Bible, whats wrong with that? Even if the Christian song may be contemporary music, maybe the song is not perfect in itself, so if God can do that, why not use the Chosen? The bigger picture of The Chosen is that it shows Jesus, The Messiah, bought light into a world full of darkness!!! And that everyone need Jesus... lets not focus on if Marry relapse and Jesus had to prepare foe thr sermon, yes those arent accurate because its not the Bible and yes u have the right to disagree with it but it is too much to called it demonic or foul intention and tell people not to watch it. I believe we have to use our discernment and give grace that nothing is perfect no one is perfect no project or TV show is perfect, only perfect thing is God and the Bible, nothing else... I do believe this show put a strong desire in people's heart to wanting to read the Bible and see if this Jesus is the real deal!!! It would be ashame to stand in front of God one day and have to explain why we discourage people to see what Jesus was doing 2000 plus years ago, so be careful my sisters in Christ, do not let pride cloud your reasoning when reading this my brothers and sisters in Christ!!!

Just watching your video now and haven’t fully listened to anything you have said, and I must say I really enjoyed The Chosen. I was heavily into new age from the age of 16 and now 40 and watching the program last year actually drew me closer to Jesus as it reminded me of my childhood bible studies and gave me confidence to listen to my heart and walk away from new age and repent. I believe these were my signs from God to open my eyes, as the signs grew stronger I was being warned. I literally nearly lost my vision last December and Jesus walked with me and got me through it all. I honestly think if I hadn’t been seeing it given these little signs to enquire more and believe in the Lord, it would be a completely different case for me today. I look forward to listening to the rest of your video with an open heart and willingness to learn. Thank you, love from Glasgow Scotland 🏴❤

You two ladies are really in the fight for souls and "contending for the faith". Few pastors today are willing to challenge "popular trends" like The Chosen even when they are dangerous. When I was a baby Christian over forty years ago my mouth was wide open to anyone "preaching about God" like a baby bird. I must have walked through a mine field of false teaching, but the Lord by his mercy preserved me, as I finally learned that the Word of God is our essential protection which we must know and study continually. It is the unchanging ruler by which we MUST measure everything we see and hear about "God", the Lord Jesus Christ, and eternity. I also learned that God is able to protect his vulnerable "newborn babies" when their hearts are truly his.

Thank you, ladies for this message. It is very needed as many are taking the show business Jesus of The Chosen as if being the authentic Christ Jesus of Scripture. As an ex-Mormon Christian doing outreach to the LDS with the Biblical Gospel, I have been heartbroken by Jenkins’ false statements about the Mormon Jesus being the same as the Jesus from the Old and New Testament. “Get used to different” refers to Jesus going against the culture at the time he came. These are the different. Not making Jesus different than the Jesus in the Bible.

FYI…check what a television show, or other media or entertainment outlet says against the Bible. We’re told to do so in the Book of Acts and 2 Timothy. - Acts 17:11 “Now these (Bereans) were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” - 2 Timothy 2:15 “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Very appreciative of this conversation! I was very into watching the chosen, excited to see something 'Christian' on a show in a time where there is so much filth, I was consumed by emotion while watching it, and even watched their interviews before and after the shows, wondering if I could potentially be an extra on the show (thank God I never went through with that). And the more I watched their interviews, seeing how much they pushed for others to give or buy their merch pushing their narrative "get used to different" 🚩... while reading others commenting to be careful of the show, I started to look deeper into the individuals involved and the doctrines they stood for in making the show (and where Dallas says "we believe in the same jesus"...🚩) found out about their affiliation with Mormons, Johnathan's close ties to the catholic church and Russell Brand (who is an avid 'spiritualist' and newager...🚩) things began to sink in and made me sick to my stomach. Like a heaviness in the pit of my gut, realizing how niave I was thinking that this show was "good" and "biblical" and the fact of how many others I had told about the show, who now watch it and think it's great that they are "actually doing something"... I'm now praying and would appreciate other believers to pray for me as well, that God will continue revealing the truth, directing me on how to share the truth with others and the ones who I directly drug into this as well, that they may also be shown truth of how deceitful the devil can be to appear as an angel of light, potentially deceiving even the very elect. Love you guys and praying for you as well! Keep fighting the good fight ✝️

I myself have been guilty of it, and came to realise that sharing the show is NOT sharing the gospel.

Another thing I want to say about Jenkins wanting to portray “the authentic Jesus” is about how he made Jesus look in the scene about Jesus doing his first sermon with the large crowd,Jenkins portrayed Jesus as someone who had to practice what he was going to say to the crowd before Jesus went in front of the crowd, and Jesus stumbling on what He would say to them. As if the REAL JESUS had to practice. Seriously that made me so angry and that was the first sign to me that I realized this show is not legit. I’m so happy I didn’t donate not 1 penny to The Chosen. I did however kept watching it to see what else they would do to portray their version of an authentic Jesus. There are Christians that will use the show to quote the Bible. It’s pretty sad, and the church I go to, will say positive things about the show (the people I know and I socialize with). What made me retreat was the attitude of Jenkins' staff and fans when some of us didn't like the slew of memes he began to post. He would not accept criticism, and there was a clear division then between objectors, who made their points with carefulness and gentleness, and the majority, who reacted with so much scoffing it was hard to see the Holy Spirit anywhere in their midst.

I also despise worldly sentiments like 'trust your heart' coming out of Jesus' mouth. He never would have told us to trust our hearts, since He told us that the human heart is wicked. I loved the Chosen when it first came out and recommended it to everyone…until I heard Dallas Jenkins say 80% of the script was not in the Bible. On the up side, that was when I started really reading my Bible! I continued to watch, with reservations, until the last episode of the second season. What opened my eyes wide was they created a state and dressed Jesus up-reminded me of the mega church pastors setting the scene gur their staged performances. All that was missing was the musical worship team! And then I realized why they put the planning of the sermon in. They were, in my opinion, trying to portray the “authentic” Jesus as just any other teacher/preacher. Insecure, needing affirmation and rehearsals, having a support stafff, etc. I realized I’m the many times I read the sermon, I saw it as being spontaneous. Jesus was talking, the crowds gathers, and Jesus spoke, unrehearsed, teaching truth like he had when he was a child, directly from His Father. I tried watching the first episode of the third season, but it only confirmed as they hacked up the sermon by interrupting it with so many things not even in the Bible. If you pay attention to what they drown out or cut off, you will see the twisted mess of what they are doing. I didn’t even make it halfway, and I was done. I grew up watching The Ten Commandments, it was the same way. Truth choked out by storylines that are quite frankly a big lie! Same with Noah and many other so called “Christian” movies. It’s rather sad. Even modern faith based movies are often just new versions of The Secret. Yes, they are positive and uplifting-but who are they lifting up? God or us? Other than reading my Bible, watching it also opened my eyes to the fact there are other “versions” of Jesus and I started to understand that the reason I was often confused is the Jesus I had grown up to believe in was not the Jesus of the Bible. I was in a Christian church, many actually in my lifetime, but they taught their doctrines, not scripture. I’d say 90% of what most mainstream religions teach are Biblical, but depending on how off scripture the 10% is, it can totally leave you confused and isolated, because I’ve been asked to leave two different churches because I asked the wrong questions. All I wanted was an answer, I wasn’t trying to hurt anything, but truth in a deceptive church is the biggest offense. It’s very sad. Prayer is what I’m focusing on. I’m still looking for a church, but honestly, it’s getting very hard to find a pastor who is teaching the scripture and who isn’t offended by questions. Prayers appreciated.

I too was taken up in the show, bought merc, paid it forward, donated monthly, and like the sister said, even though I saw things I overlooked it, let it slide, because I wanted a faith form of fandom to be apart of, glorifying our precious Savior! But then the Holy Spirit arrested me as one who is taught the word, I should know better,and was thus convicted. So I stopped watching the show. But after talking to a family member, I was told to pray about can God use me in my experience. And I felt a resounding yes! So now I watch it to point out things, and in my constant discussions with fans, even in my Church, I can see where folks are giving it pause, and asking questions. People say they love the show and they need to see a Jesus concerned about their everyday lives, as if He only is concerned about eternity. This is because they do not know mainly the Old Testament, as well as the teachings of Christ in the New. In the OT, we see God and Jesus have involvement in every aspecy of the human experience. In the NT we hear Jesus speak on How He and the Father cares for and is concerned with every aspect of our lives. We do not have to de-divine Him to see that. He is bigger than us and that is to our glorious benefit. Why would we want to bring Him down to our level. You've made so many points:*the division that has come/ *christians cutting each other off due to the show/ *telling the Gospel not selling it/ *Dallas is using this as a ministry and hollywood made type show at the same time/ *it plays on our emotions & presents itself as a christian message, crafly designed by satan/ *it plays down Christ's teachings and image. Thank you for this video and i will be sharing it!

Thank you for your opinion on this. I see what youre saying. I've watched the 1st season and admit that I enjoyed it. Never got around to watching the other seasons and probably never will as I don't get that urge to. First and above all we should always read the Bible all 66 books in it over and over in different translations, studying and meditating on it, getting to know Jesus Christ and allow God to speak for Himself through His Word before anything else so not to be deceived. God bless you. If you've watched The Chosen and enjoyed it? Go read The Bible and allow God to reveal Himself to you 1st hand. If you haven't watched The Chosen then pick up The Bible instead and read it, allowing God to speak for Himself. Read, believe and do what He says in it. Taste and see for yourself how good God is ❤
