I think the cityscape is mostly inspired by Bosch paintings, if that's what you mean by architecture. If you mean like, the specific designs and layouts of the buildings, I don't know, I don't know much about that lol.

Yeah, once I realized that the world was pretty much a Disneyfied Garden of Earthly Delights, the entire aesthetic of the show suddenly *clicked* into place for me, and it helped me to enjoy it more. (It didn't click for me until Episode 4, when we meet Morton the alchemist with the funnel on his head. Then I was like: "Ooooooh! It's cartoonified Hieronymous Bosch! With the teeth and the bones and the...OMG, I SEE it now!")

oh you have no idea! you're gonna be so fucking proud of Luz at the end, she grows so much! Also, just in case you haven't heard this 'warning' before: the first half of season 1 is mostly setting up the world, the characters and their relationships (and there are some disney-mandated filler episodes too, lol). around like episode 15/16 is when the plot picks up, goes completely off the rails in season 2, and essentially doesn't slow down again until the end of the show.

Up until episode 15, the show is semi-episodic. 15 onward, it's much more strongly serialized. I'm so excited.

They couldn't have made a more stereotypical wizard if his name was Gandalfbledore To clarify, "witch" is a neutral term, it's used the same way we'd use the words "human" or "person". "Wizard" is a title or an aesthetic they can choose, but it's not a big deal at all. Crikey! I swear, this episode works as a better pilot than the actual pilot. It lays out the tone, character dynamics and themes much more efficiently then the first episode
