As a scientist, I really think that you using “woke” is a compliment, as the opposite of woke is asleep…..not paying attention…….heads in the sand to reality. Jesus was woke, because he defied his times…..he actually not only spoke to women, he touched them, which was a big No, No. He would have been considered woke by you folks…..and then he was hung on a cross. Would you have even recognized him today considering he went against all the norms of the that time. Read the New Testament how he admonishes fairly consistently people for being asleep. Literally using that term. But, my Jesus was indeed woke considering he came as a poor man, and all the unwoke people of today voted for a ludicrous “rich sexist”for President. Please do not assume that just because I love Jesus that I believe in YOUR ideology AT ALL. I remember when I first saw The Chosen, on my phone. It was a free showing and a pay it forward, in its very early stages. I fell so in love with it ❤the characters brought me to reading the Bible daily and eventually I brought it into the youth ministry I was leading. It made a huge difference in how people relate to the people and stories in the Bible 🎉I’m grateful for I was able to see it at the theater! So awesome 👏🏻 God bless

In Season 2, when Liz (Mary Magdalene) returns to the group, penitent for leaving and falls into the arms of Jesus when he says, "I forgive you" and she sobs - that scene gets me every time mainly because it is the absolute truth. I just close my eyes and imagine myself in His arms. Jesus died for our sins and His unconditional love is forever for the asking.

However I am having a very hard time with him. 😫 Reminds me of many religious people I have encountered in my lifetime. The way I always saw Judas, since very little. 🤦🏽‍♂️His role has barely started but I know before this show I would have been that one man who says something along the lines of; I hate Judas. After this show I can’t seem to be able to hate on anyone, it is trully remarkable what this show can do, I know the story isn’t new, but still. It has always been there, yet my desire to get even closer to God, and Jesus wasn’t at its highest before this.

@@Miguel_Gabriel_ yeah exactly. Judas, according to director Dallas. Said that out of all the disciples of Jesus. He was the one that was the most difficult to write. In terms of how to set up his character and what his role is in the current and later stories. but yeah. Looking at the trailer of season 3 at the beginning was hard. When jesus asked, are you ready to do hard things? And judas replied. Yes. man Its gonna be an emotional ride what he will do once we get to season 6 or 7. so the story in the bible was, was that he betrayed him in exchange for 30 ounce of silver right? Anyways, how could you hate judas or anyone else for that matter? Didn’t he regret what he did? Okay moving on but what about shmuel?🤔 I love shmuel’s character because he is a very conflicted person. Like mary magdalene. Like he feels like what he is doing is the right thing. But he sees his own mentor nicodemus doing something else other than following traditional scripture. Nicodemus wanted to know so badly what jesus was up to. And he was the only Pharisee who was open minded. Shmuel however was just willing to justify to the court that jesus was a false prophet and false prophets according to his point of view must be treated badly or put to death. Or something like that. But i wonder what the other pharisee’s are going to think of jesus in season3. Well were gonna find out soon i guess. Shmuel is the opposite of nicodemus. He is dogmatic in his approach to things and nicodemus is enlightened and open minded. Yeah yin and yang. I hope nicodemus comes back in season 3. But some say he might in season 5. Others have said it in a rumor. Maybe he could as a cameo in the third season who knows.🤷‍♂️ another character I want to see again is Abigail and her friends. Wow they were a huge part in season 1. Hopefully they come back too. abigail is beautiful, smart and very thoughtful person.

A little disappointed they didn't mention God one time. Didn't say anything about how the show has grown them in their relationship with Him (Do they have one...? 🤔), No mentioned the portrayal of Jesus and how impacting that is, seem like just a couple of secular actors on a secular movie... 😔

I think,I understand what you mean. As far as I know,many actors in this series are not believers.I’m not sure. But maybe we can see it as a time of their journey with God.As we know,the way to Christ can be long.And maybe, we will hear about testimonies from the actors in the future.
