That's the whole point of his Descention. To reveal God within the human experience. The Son of Man revealed the Son Of God, the word made flesh, to us all as he lived through all of human creation. Jesus hungered, fell tired, felt deeply, wept, angered, fell conflicted with his vanity, argued with his mother and siblings, he was fully human although his spirit, like ours, was devine, his was was spiritually experienced from high above. What I mean is that we do not have to follow everything Jesus did. His message was simply by faith, living and acting with God, will you recognise the God as the spiritual father of all, sinner and saint. Jesus forgave Judas, and the high priest from the heart of his soul, because the human heart without the spirit of God cannot forgive. The human heart without the guidance of the spirit is wicked, it's vain. And Judas could not get past his vanity. It is most tragic that this world, and this people were offered to be the spiritual leaders yet their vanity and fear declined the Son Of Man, the revelation of the word made flesh to reveal God as the Father of ALL nations, not just one "chosen" tribe. And that is the problem of institutionalisation, you can experience the world beyond the windows and boxes you create yourself. And that's what the human heart does, builds walls of comfort but also out of fear. It's most unfortunate that the title is called the chosen because God has already chosen us all, sinner and saint. There is no chosen people. The fact remains have we, as individuals chosen God as he has chosen us? That's is OUR journey, that is our descision. And we can believe scripture, pray and follow rituals but that's not the same as faith. Faith requires you to go beyond those walls of prayer, scripture and rituals. It requires you to go to the Romans, Samaritans, Gentle and sinners as well as those with in your own. God is loyal to those who's hearts and souls are dominated by mercy, forgiveness and love. Not to those who pray 5 times a day, go confession or observe Shabbat. Faith, to act as if everyone in your community is a child of God, is to recognise God as a spiritual Father of Love and yourself as a child of God. To recognise this is to have faith, to be dominated by love and mercy. You will not fear death, because the Spirit of Truth will let you recognise that there is life after death and it's granted to all. And that's a wild thing to say but it is. God's love is so great even your enemies are granted life after death. What we are not granted is to live forever, for after Heaven we will be asked the ultimate question...Do you want to live forever? If so, then the "price to pay" is to do Gods Will forever. To live through faith forever. And that can be chosen in this mortal life now, or the next in heaven. However, once decided, you are no more. There is no hell, it's of our own imagination and making. Hell is the absence of the light, God's Spirit, and that's possible even in heaven. The fate of the unfaithful is much more worse than eternal damnation, it's spiritual extinction. You will only be but a memory in the minds of those who knew you and the records of heaven. We are not required to live like Jesus did, simply believe AS he did. Living faithfully even when one of his closest closed his heart to the truth, and chose vain imprisonment instead of spiritual liberation. God's love is so great, that eternal torture makes no sense. What father or even parent would rejoice in the pain and suffering of their child? No true father or parent would. Only a father or parent who's heart has been closed of to love due to human vanity and fear would do so. And God's love goes far beyond the human heart. It is because rod God's spirit the human heart can experience such love. And so, we must weep when such tragedies occur, but also rejoice that your loved despite your flaws and shortcomings. Let God's love inspire your heart to break free from the fear and vanity your heart often is consumed with.

@@jkurtz4286 Then why did God allow the Chosen to be released? He may not NEED it, but He certainly can use it. It's an excellent show to represent Christianity to non-believers and believers alike. People are hungry for Christian content.
@jkurtz42867 күн бұрын
@ To answer the first question “why did God allow…?”, He allows anything to happen because of free will He gave humanity. We have the choice to sin or follow His commandments; the choice to reject Him or truly love Him despite hardships, such as sickness, financial troubles, or death of a loved one. For the second part of God using this show: I disagree with creating conversations that Jesus never had, especially when the actor is showing torment over Judas’s heart and crying about it. That implies weakness or uncertainty of what choice Judas was going to make. My Lord and Savior knew exactly what He came to this earth for, how He was going to die, and who was going to betray Him. This evidence is found in John 13:18, referencing back to David’s prophecy is Psalm 41:9, John 6:64, and John 13:18-30. Also, there’s way too much controversy surrounding this show, crew members being anti-Christianity, inaccuracies, and non-biblical stories. It’s like taking a meal cooked too perfection, but a bunch of byproducts, excessive/unnecessary seasoning, stuff that’s not even considered real food given to you by a chef who is coughing and sneezing everywhere. I wouldn’t eat it. If you don’t believe me, google/youtube this show’s inaccuracies. The list goes on and on. Throughout human history, there have been people who suffered and died for their faith and they weren’t brought to it by seeing a tv show. What I hope a pray is anyone reading this message will fact check this show, open your Bible (not just the ones online), and read for yourself. Get closer to the Lord without it needing entertainment.

So when jesus rejected his advice, he was mystified and crushed-- but never once did he think "oh maybe I'm wrong, and this isn't what God's plan is. Maybe I should ask jesus why he chose me, if not for my advice." That's the point where his arrogance won. Judas' anger and frustration when he shouted "then I have no purpose in this group." 😮 So well played. And even though Jesus knows what Judas will do, he cries over him. He mourns the lost sheep. How great His love is.❤ I'm deeply touched by this highly emotional scene.

@@TheChosenSeriesYes, that's true. But that would have gone beyond the scope of this post. Just watched it again and noticed so many things - spoken and not spoken. I have been completely overwhelmed. Goosebumps all over.

This interaction held sublime acting. The facial expressions, particular by Luke in character held intensity, inquisitiveness, frustration and a foreboding. 👀🥺

When I saw the one who was to play Judas I knew he was going to be great! We could actually see the storm of Judas's emotions within a range of a few micro-expressions and by the look in his eyes. Bravissimo! He is a splendid young actor. And ofcourse Jonathan, perfect in his role as always. Giving glory to God.🙏🏻 To create actual meaningful dialogue for this seems daunting. But with the help of the Most High, ofcourse everything is possible.🕊️ Then the atmosphere and all of this layered complexity of scripture and Christian tradition woven into it. Beautiful. I am still most thankful this show brought my kids into a personal relationship with their Saviour, their Lord and Best Friend. It truly is the greatest story ever told..so it will always be.🙏🏻 PS..When I first gave my heart to Christ I somehow could 'imagine'(?) the sorrow, pain and hurt of God in scripture..Sometimes it was an ocean of grief and my first bible was filled with teared up pages. If we are made in His image and we can have all kinds of emotions...Imagine the vastness and scale of them coming from the source of all..Don't imagine. But there you go. Jesus our Lord forever.🔥❤️✝️🕊️🌹

You’ve done it again!! You’ve given us a gift of discovery, the subtle difference between our desire to be useful to the kingdom and the temptation to think we know better than God. This scene is beautiful and terrifying. “The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.” Ps. 20:5 This scene is powerful because poor Judas refuses to search his heart’s motives. Let us not choose to do the same.

Dallas & team... this ONE sneek peek alone... will get SO MANY new people to watch the chosen... alot of people have heard about the betrayal by judas, but don't know all the before & after... LOVE how you handled this... almost an awkward job interview feeling at the end... so cold... you could see & feel in the eyes of judas when his heart slammed shut... just wow!

Exactly why you follow your heart, intuition, and not what other people "think" you should do. The voice of God inside you strengthen by obedience, not listening to the world or people. The projection of fear from Judas is seen here. But, with grace, patience and compassion for what Judas believes, Jesus was patient with him, regardless of what he does or eventually do. Love is not judgment but acceptance.

Wow.. this scene was a final goodbye for both parties having common ground 😢 For Jesus, knowing the inevitable hoping the outcome would change but it won’t. For Judas, refusing to understand he will never get his way according to Jesus’s purpose. And the music score of coins dropping 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 well done Dallas and Chosen team!

This scene is so expertly done - it touches on the questions and feelings every one of us has at some point in our relationship with Christ. And in the end, Christ says the same thing to us - "will you still follow me?" ❤

Perfectly believable and skillful portrayal of Judas. Next to Jesus, perhaps the most interesting character on the show. Narcissistic, self absorbed, and selfish, he can't comprehend the biblical admonition that "My thoughts are not your thoughts, my ways aren't your ways." The venom absolutely drips from him when he talks with disgust about Jesus' response regarding taxes. His hate for the Romans trumps all, making it impossible for him to grasp that maybe, just maybe, Jesus knows what he's doing. Brilliant.

Isn't that all of us at times? I've had to struggle with the thought that a lot of times, my plans are not His plans at all. Sometimes, whatever I wanted to attain took me years of patience and struggle and that honestly made me frustrated. Sometimes, you never get what you wanted. I've even questioned Him at times out of exhaustion almost in a grudging and daring way, can't lie. Thank God that He opened my eyes when I started falling off in difficult times.

It's offense... the enemy gets us through offense so easily!😮 Judas took offense... both in the series.. and we see it in The Word.. it's how the enemy has entrance to lead him to betray his Lord. We must not let offense lead us off track! What a lesson for us all! ❤

I wondered about that. Was Judas holding out two hands to Jesus, hoping that Jesus would see that Judas was “right”, and gladly (2-handedly) accept his “wise and generous” offer of help at such a critical time?
@Platschu14 күн бұрын
@sunsetfree5358 I believe it was a symbol that Jesus could look into his heart and while he offered him a choice then he also made his unsaid decision easier. Two hands in hands would have meant to accept Judas' opinion like a harmony between friends, while one hand felt like a formal refusa and good bye which was followed by a direct send away order without hugging. Judas immediately understood the body language and stormed out with anger and disappointment like his soul was already tempted by evil and their views of future act won't be on the same side. He could have accepted Jesus' opinion and calm down, but we all know what will happen even if he regrets it later. I like these little signs in the directing.

once in our lives, we tried to please God in our own ways- but our ways just showed who owns our heart (us). we can only honor Jesus by how He wants us to. For Him. By Him. Through Him.
