@Dominic Selfrighteous feels good doesn't it? BTW, exactly where do you think the concept of "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a life for a life" comes from? As far as pervert goes, I think you are engaged in a bit of projection there. Just because the idea of seeing someone executed excites YOU sexually, doesn't mean it excites everyone else in that same way. Let someone murder 6 of your family members and then come preaching this sanctimonious BS about compassion and forgiveness. If it was me, justice would be done with or without the government's help. All that being said I personally believe a life sentence is more of a punishment. But, in extreme cases where guilt is proven beyond all doubt, I think the victim's family should decide which punishment they perfer.

You can clearly hear gunshots on the 911 call, yet the cops let a locked gate interfere with their initial response?
@Raven-fx8nr
@Raven-fx8nr 4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! Screaming and gunshots clearly heard!! Police should have busted in with backup on that call. Then that poor lady wouldn't have had to walk in and see the horrific crime scene of her best friend and family murdered....that trauma and horrific image will be stuck with her and in her mind for the rest of her life. I always thought that any 911 call made that the police are required to show up and verify by speaking to someone and checking things out that everything is ok before dismissing it even if the call was made by mistake. Guess that's not the case 😕
@constanceleah118
@constanceleah118 4 жыл бұрын
My Mother hit 911 on speed dial (she took it off the speed dial afterwards because dialing 911 on purpose was just as quick and less chance of an accidental call again)... But, she hit 911 on accident, hung up because she realized and never heard anyone answer. Within 10 minutes there were officers approaching my step father in the front yard. He had noooo clue she had made a call at all. (She really didn't either) and they would not leave until they were able to verify everything was ok. That was Indianapolis, Indiana. I really can't think of any reason it should be handled any differently anywhere else.
@Raven-fx8nr
@Raven-fx8nr 4 жыл бұрын
@@constanceleah118 I agree, that's how it should be handled everywhere. I am sure 911 calls are dialed by mistake all the time but better to check it out thoroughly and confirm it was a mistake rather than assume it was and dismiss it when someone really needs help. In this case had they gone in and checked, some of the family members may have been able to get immediate medical attention and possibly been saved. I sincerely hope the officer learned from this and never dismisses another 911 call without thoroughly checking the residence and everyone at the residence.

You included information that was in the initial police report. Well done. I’m a friend of Erica’s mom, Pam, and I was looking after her son while the court made the decision to seek the death penalty. Your thoughts about Michele and Joseph are spot on. It wasn’t money that fueled the crime. Erica and Scott didn’t need Michele’s financial help. Michele couldn’t bear to see the happiness they shared. And there was no indication that Michele, or Joseph were mentally unstable before the murders. It was simply convenient for them to be so during their trials.

@@CHASE420stars, when I read the police interview and came across the part where the two had decided it was better to take the lives of the children than to leave them alive with memories of that night, I was horrified. I join you in confusion at trying to understand it. Last week, I had a long conversation with Pam and we talked about Erica, Scott, Olivia and Nathan. She keeps their memory alive. In spite of the nightmare Pam continues to move through, she inspires me to look for joy, extend kindness and fill my heart with gratitude. She’s the strongest woman I’ve ever met. @@amypemberton528 I'm glad you have pam and pam has you, I'm genuinely confused because my family have had their spats about rent, smoked the devil's lettuce but no ones ever been violent, or if they have they just got put in a different family's home, like I see no reason for epically the children, now I didnt know them, but they look just like my cousins I care for, I just am so confused as to how evil you have to be to kill children, I dont talk about it much but I went through something horrible when i was around Olivia and Nate's age and it left me with alot of damage yeah but I can still live, just because a child is damaged doesnt mean their corrupt, like that was so confusing for me, sadly the person that did those things burnt alot of evidence of very bad stuff about me and other children and claimed insanity, he only got two years so I had to move and leave everything I love behind, but I can only imagine the kind of horrifying nightmares she has, and I hope pam is getting support from everyone right now. I'm certainly not a religious person but those two children are in a much better place then where Michelle and Joseph' will be going. (This story is so tragic, I read up about Nate but they dont really talk about olivia much :( those two little ones deserved to live, when I read the details of Nate's DNA being in erica from holding her so tight I cried and almost puked, what a disgusting witch Michelle is. )

When someone writes the book, I'd like to hear her say on Michelle and Joseph Mcenroe. I mean, they obviously were always problems for Judy and Wayne. Joseph, so, he could never quite learn to say his ``Rs,'' so what was up with that?! I mean, normally a child with that, they get speech therapy, easy-peasy? I've never met an adult who spoke like that? There must have been drugs involved? And, good God, the dispatcher hears the damn gunshots going off and the line going dead, and the cops don't see the point of overcoming the obstacle of the gate?! It's King County, Washington, serial-killer playground, and that's the dispatcher they have?

The closest I could come to a mitigating factor would be abuse of some description, so assuming that, (hypothetically) you'd imagine that the parents were the abusers, so why kill her brother, sister-in-law, and two young children? Why live on the same property? If she'd been abused you'd imagine her moving as far away as possible, as soon as possible, but she continued to live just yards away fry her parents - doesn't point to a terrible lifelong relationship IMHO. You're correct when you say that we shouldn't make assumptions - an admirable sentiment, but it's difficult to see past the brutal slaying of six people, obviously including two very young children.

Erica, Olivia and Nathan were my cousins. Over the years I’ve seen plenty of coverage on this tragedy. You did a great job being somber and I appreciate your take on it. For additional information, in the 9-1-1 phone call you can actually hear Erica say, “please no, not the kids.” I understand a lot of you may have questions, believe me I know it’s hard to comprehend such a brutal case. I’ll try to respond to what comments that I can to answer any of your questions. Also a huge shoutout to Scott O’Toole the lead prosecutor in this case. He inspired me to pursue a career in law, and I’m now applying to law schools thanks to him. Another important note: Scott did not owe Michelle any money, it was all because Wayne and Judy finally asked these two sick individuals to pay rent. Wayne and Judy were incredibly kind people, and beloved by my small town. Moreover: JOSEPH WAS FAKING. Prior to the trial he never had a twitch, it was all an act and multiple witnesses testified that he never acted this way before the trial began. Both he and Michelle tried to claim insanity several times and were always found to be mentally competent.

It was interesting to me that he said “this torturous existence” not “a” torturous existence. Seems unnatural phrasing. For example “to grow up living a torturous existence” would make more sense. I know it kind of makes sense when he’s just described the act so saying “this” as in what he’s just described-the picture he’s just painted if you will. But it could be that in his mind life itself is a torturous existence. Not comparable to watching your family slain- by a family member, in front of you as a kid, but I’m guessing to himself his life was a pile of shit and he not only agreed that he’s ‘saving’ them from the inevitable lifelong trauma of growing up post massacre but that he was maybe also doing them a favor ‘freeing’ them from what in his view is a torturous experience anyway. Life. I could be talking bollocks though. I just don’t understand how any human can kill children. I guess doing that disqualifies you from being classed as human. Those poor kids

@@Arevui It's not just about the emotion of hatred however. You need power to actually put said hatred into practice. If your local convenience store employee hates rich people, how much ability do you think he has to act on that hatred, assuming he doesn't go shoot up a place? Not much. Maybe occasionally he can spit in someone's food or something, but that's about it. Now, how much ability do you think a legislator that hates black people has to harm them? How much ability do you think police have to harm someone? Obviously a lot more, because they have the power to do so. Or to bring it back to religion, I'm sure you've met at least a few people that hate Christianity. How much ability do they have to actually make an impact on the lives of Christians? Now, how much ability do Christians who hate non-Christians have to harm them? Obviously a lot more, because Christians hold the majority of power in the country. Search "Michele Anderson trial." There is actually quite a bit of footage of it. She doesnt actually ever take the stand (that I saw) so there isnt footage of her talking in person, though they do play footage of the audio of some of her interrogation and her confession. The only thing I saw of her talking was during her sentencing when the judge asks if she wants to say anything and she just says "no thank you."

Man. See. I've heard all of these cases and the interviews in them, in podcasts in years previous. But I've never seen these people. So seeing these people in the moment, like this guy's speech impediment... it's kind of surreal. Found this channel a few weeks ago. Been binging it ever since. It's about the only way I would be willing to revisit all of these cases to start with. It's a big compliment.

Yes. I know that seeing the victims of a murder, especially children, can evoke feelings of retribution, revenge and retaliation. However I've seen abnormal psychology and I've seen it in settings similar to this. Maybe he didn't show emotional reactions like this to the prosecution or police, but on the stand (while medicated) is where I would expect to see the most intense self inventory. That's where you'll see the symptoms most.

DifferentWorlds Yeah, that moment and his “fit” immediately afterward was...too imperfect to be an act, if you know what I mean. The stuttering, the sudden realization of what he’d just said (and done), the thrashing...there was nothing theatrical about it. It was disturbing because he was deeply disturbed in that moment, to the point that he couldn’t contain it.

There’s actually more audio to Erica’s 911 call... but I don’t blame him for not including it. I haven’t been able to forget it since the first time I listened to it. It has always stayed with me. I researched this case heavily for a paper in high school. I ache for this Family. To hear Erica... the terror, the pain, the sound of her heart shattering as she screams “No! No! Not my kids!”..... Even tho it’s not much longer than what’s included in this video, it just never leaves you once you hear the full call because you realize she had to witness her husband and both of her babies be gunned down before they finished her off. While she lay bleeding and unable to do anything at all but watch her Family slaughtered. To know those are the last thoughts she had. I just..... Rest In Peace Angels, I’ll never forget your story.

I don't think we do in Australia, either, but... funny how parole boards have routinely denied parole to some of our most violent offenders. I mean that even way past the extent of their given sentences, they've still been kept in jail due to some extraordinary measures like government intervention...I wouldn't be the least surprised if the same has occurred in the UK.
