I love the minor crises prompts 😂 Shattered bulbs are no joke! On the fallen angel: we used to have a star made of some kind of clay or dough, that my great aunt had made and sent us from the US. It wasn’t very pretty, it was too small and thick and painted green and red, but it was from her and it always made us smile when we were decorating the tree. I don’t think I ever met her, but it was a very special thing. The problem was it was kept in a box of Christmas decorations, as you do, and we kept it in the basement, where it sometimes got a bit damp… so some years, the star had sort of swelled from the damp, and was cold and yucky and we all laughed at it, but up it went, sitting on top of the tree like a green lump from our great aunt 😊
@BookChatWithPat8668Ай бұрын
Oh Ellen! I love this story of your precious "green lump" from your great aunt from the US! How precious! I think I have a few ornaments like that as well that have a special place on the tree not because of their physical beauty but because of their precious, sentimental value. My favorite ornaments are the ones that have a story behind them. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.
