Turns 15 today! This is a much more mature entry which is refreshing cause these kids including Caspian have to get past their personal problems in order to grow; with Aslan absent for much of this they can only succeed if they rise above their petty ness Barnes is really good as this prince unsure of whether or not he's worthy of leading the kingdom given the history his ancestors made hard for the Narnians So much of the Christian subtext and metaphors is sprinkled throughout here at points it's laid pretty thick But the action sequences are phenomenal as are the CG portions, the music by Harry-Gregson Williams is sweeping, the newer characters from Reepicheep to Miraz to Trumpkin to Grozelle make for some nice additions The Telmarines also seem better equipped with advanced armor and weaponary Sadly this was Adamson's last run as director but it has great stuff in it like fate, temptation, and discussion of politics along with strategy Darker, more mature, more intense and in many respects is better than the first movie
