The Church were back in at the fabulous Aladdin Theater in Portland last night for the 4th stop on their US tour for their latest record, The Hypnogogue. It is impressive that a band 40 years into their career can make a record so good and sound this great on stage.
For their 7th song of the night, the band reached all the way to the beginning and pulled one of my favorite tracks from 1981's Of Skins and Heart. Steve introduced the song with a long background story involving beaches, murky dark water, and Christmas Eve. The song starts slowly and builds to a rocking peak!
