I saw when it was released in the theater… And met Philip Glass (briefly - LOL), in his studio before it’s release, when he was being interviewed by a Japanese journalist - who was a friend of my Japanese boss, at the time, for a Japanese magazine. Utterly amazing film through and through. Highly recommended… Transcendent in my opinion.

Hey if you enjoyed this film, i recommend conflagration by kon Ichikawa its based on Mishima's novel the temple of the golden pavilion. I loved the parallels between this films part about the same novel and that film
