A couple of thoughts on this one. I do agree that the Citi Prestige is not top-tier. But I also will make the argument that the American Express Platinum card is not top-tier either. The thing people love about American Express is the lperceived” Prestige from the card, and for some strange reason it makes people feel good about them self. I will never get it. The unhealthy love people have for metal cards, and the price they’re willing to pay for them, makes me scratch my head. It does suck that Citi eliminated benefits, but let’s not forget that it wasn’t all that long ago the AMEX had no travel for protection on any card. And even their new travel protection comes with a lot of stipulations and the way you have to book your travel in order for it to be effective. The American Express platinum card to me is an overpriced lounge access card. A travel card that has no multipliers for travel categories other than flights is another one that makes me scratch my head. No multiplier on a travel car for dining travel or general travel is crazy. There is an argument to be made that the Citi Premier is better than the Prestige, the Amex Platinum, and the Amex Gold. It doesn’t have benefits for 3x on flights, dining, grocery, and gas with no cap on earnings is decent for $95 and it has a $100 hotel credit. In all of my travels I can’t remember the last time file a trip delay/cancellation claim. Again reminding that folks carried Amex cards for YEARS, happily, without any travel protection so calling Citi out for it seems a bit...unjust. I think Citi needs to revamp the Prestige and I think the Amex Platinum and Gold is overrated and overpriced. And lastly as far as Citi not having a hotel partner I would say that most in this hobby would agree that transfer points to a hotel if the WORST way to use points with the exception of Ultimate RewRda over to Hyatt and there’s a looming devaluation over there on the horizon as well. I love these videos. Thought provoking for sure!!

Good video Mike. You brought up some very good points. But this card is still one of my favorites. If someone is a hard core traveler it's hard not to like. Their travel partners are awesome and you get tons of value from them. I save at least $500 a year using the 4th night free perk. The only company who has as broad of a travel credit is the CSR. And outside of the Altitude Reserve, its the best point earning premium travel card. I've never had to use travel protections (I've been to 27 countries and countless U.S cities) and because of that I don't really value having them. But maybe that will change once my luck changes. With the point earnings and the transfer partners it's hard for a hard core traveler not to love this card.......and when you stack it with the no annual fee Citi Double Cash........i'm sold.

Hey thanks for the comment! I think sometimes it's tricky as servicemembers to look at these cards the same as civilians. You saved $500 but you also didn't have an annual fee to offset right? Lol I'll definitely grab this card down the line myself because that travel credit is free money for us lol. But thanks again for the comment, fan of you content!

@@michaelantione Thanks. I appreciate it. I'm editing a Citi Trifecta video now that shows the projected value per year....including the deduction of the annual fees. Keep up the good work. You have a really good channel.

Great video mike. I want to get the prestige but it really is just a flex card cause of the metal and weight of it 18 grams. If city added a higher bonus or other upgrades I’ll definitely jump on it. Thanks for sharing the video.
