On the 1st of July 2024, the transitional governance led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré will reach its culmination. Remembering his ascendancy in September 2022, when he assumed the mantle of interim presidency for Burkina Faso the subsequent October, Traoré pledged his backing for a transitional phase, culminating in electoral processes come July 2024. This imminent conclusion signals the end of the military administration that has held sway over Burkina Faso for more than a year. In consonance with this development, Traoré's administrative team recently declared their intention to convene national consultations by the month's end. These consultations aim to chart the course for the nation's transition towards civilian rule, as articulated in a communiqué endorsed by Minister Emil Zerbo of Territorial Administration, and broadcast on national airwaves.
