Thanks for sharing this. From someone who has seen others have accidents from falling asleep at the wheel and myself having been in one I can tell you as heart breaking a car being totalled is nothing compared to ones life. Glad your friend was ok despite pretty serious injuries. People at times think it won't happen to them but no one is an exception. Hope others learn from this and slow things down to make sure they are rested. Car content is great but what good is content and cars to be enjoyed if folks are not around to enjoy and create.

something liked this happened to me when I was around 19-20, had an h2b integra gsr with a sir-g front end conversion tuned and running solid made 242hp 167tq, driving home late one night I dozed off for too long and the car was done for, I was lucky to be alive, concussion, nearly bit through my tongue and body was beyond sore. I woke up a whole day later after returning home from the hospital, quietly and with tears in my eyes I began pulling what parts I could salvage from the car. It was insane how when I initially woke up from the accident, I thought myself and the car were in a condition to drive ( beyond out of it). Glad He is safe!

Good to know your buddy is ok, hopefully fully recovered by now. Falling asleep at the wheel is so sketch, did a morning track day and left at night driving back from Laguna me and some of us in group were falling asleep at the wheel by the time we hit 880 (good thing wasn't happening on 17) the bumps and rumblestrip wakes us up a bit but would never drive that fatigued again. Anyone that fatigued ideally take a rest off the road. Love the reiteration red EK and the subtle touches such as the holes in the rear bumper as mentioned. The color matched mugen intake top is dope and as mentioned might as well try it out. Lip very suitable and especially with option to separate very👌 Also TE the world lol

So sorry to hear/see about this man smh. Thankfully Yasu was alright. It's a shame, but luckily a life wasn't lost. I remember one time I was leaving my buddies house, and it's pretty much nothing but highway between us- simple 30 mile drive. I was cruising- rather quickly to say the least, dozed off and woke back up right as I was about to hit a guardrail. I was shook the whole rest of the drive home. Anyway, goes without saying, if you gotta pull over for a bit to get rest, just do it. Better safe than sorry.

Whoa, that's a bad one.😟 And it's soooo easy for this to happen with fatigue. Really great to hear he wasn't badly injured. We can always replace things, but not people. To be fair to the EK I'm actually impressed by how it fared with an impact like that. One would _think_ , being such a small and let's face it older car, it would fall apart like a clown car, but no. Funny you mentioned he was asleep and limp/relaxed when he hit and that likely helped him avoid worse injuries. Years ago an ambulance paramedic I knew said something similar. IE if they came upon a big crash and the driver was in better condition than expected it was nearly always a sign they'd fallen asleep at the wheel. Another odd one; blind drunk drivers/passengers were also generally less injured too. The relaxed when shit happens seems to make a difference.
