Wow, this was masterful, touching and tender all at once. Boog Girl brought me here from a different site and I am most grateful but not yet dead. Never heard of this group. Last time I was in Pittsburgh was to visit family in nearby McKeesport in 1971. I got to see the great Roberto Clemente and the Pirates play the NY Mets and I got to see Al Martino at a suspicious dinner club. "The Clarks" were young boys then and look what happens when true talent meets opportunity. Thanks for sharing this gem.

One of my all time favorite songs. The damn songwriting in this is pretty unbelievable. It’s not often you find the Melody matching the storyline perfectly.

What a beautiful and soulful-sounding song, and it came out right after a dear friend of mine passed on to the other side, giving it a special meaning for me...

So looking forward to seeing them at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago on 5/31/19. Bucket list item - along with an old friend that passed away too young (48.) Wish we had made more time to see them before she died. Going to be a bittersweet time.

Such a great version of this song. Loved seeing you guys at Beat Kitchen here in Chicago a few months back. Brought back some great memories from my time spent in Harrisburg in the mid-late 90's.

I love The Clarks. The most down to earth band I've ever heard or seen. I always stop and think..The Clarks could have went so much further and been so much bigger than they are..and I have to wonder why. Then again, I think I know why. Now I wonder if I could get a answer on this question from them?? Just to see if it's the reason I believe it is.

I'd like to think it's because good people like them are doing just fine with the popularity they have. It's the un-answered prayers we have to be thankful for.

I wonder what would have happened if they played Shimmy Low instead of Hell On Wheels the time they were on Letterman?
@maryneubeck26204 жыл бұрын
I was literally just having that same thought! I think they would have made it much bigger if they had
@RRPounder4 жыл бұрын
@@maryneubeck2620 I asked Greg online about the story behind that. He said they had planned to play Shimmy, but Letterman requested HOW.
