Late 70s. And maybe, by Japanese standards, they might class it as rock. Also, The Clash had moved on from their earlier Punk Rock incarnation from 76 - 78, with the album London Calling in 1979 being an exploration of everything from Ska (Rudy Can't Fail) and Reggae (Guns of Brixton, Revolution Rock) to Rockabilly (Hateful, Brand New Cadillac) and Jazz (Jimmy Jazz)@@ildart8738

Tonight I’m getting on a plane to head to London for a week. It’s been one of my biggest dreams since I was little, and this trip is my graduation gift. I’ll definitely be playing this song all throughout my trip. As a huge music fan, I’m beyond thankful to finally be able to go to one of the most influential places in the world in terms of music as well. Thank you to The Clash for writing this absolute banger and the perfect anthem for the trip of a lifetime. ❤️

@@kaitlinx2366 So exciting! You probably could have asked for anything; but you chose travel and music! I love it. Girl after my own heart. I had "rock and roll" crushes on all the British boys. John Rotten, Joe Strummer, Billy Idol, Adam Ant, Sid Vicious, Ian Curtis etc. All the bad boys. Just thought I'd share.
