my friends bought 3 hits of acid for $10 I took one hit and lost track of them. I had so much energy that I spent the whole show dancing Next day could hardly walk because I had blisters on my feet from all that dancing

I think The Clash were more than just your 'punk rock' band as their music proved! They could turn their hand and musical talent to any type of music! Joe's voice was unique,Topper's drumming was second to none,Paul on Bass was heaven sent, and Mick Jones could do it all! There will never be another band like the Clash! Just glad i saw them and met Joe in person several times!!! He was a GOD! I bet heaven fucking rocks nowadays!!! Maybe when God wants to chill,he can turn to Mikey Dread!!!

I love that Mick is singing fast and Joe is chording hard. It is so discrete in this song, and the 'ambulance' siren is much fire. This song is prescient of so many later songs... Joe, miss you very much. You made a real and positive difference in my life.

I believe this is shot at the US Festival. And the English Beat DID play the same day. It was a great show! It was the last time Mick played with the Clash if I'm not mistaken.

No doubting the Ramones were one of the first and best Punk bands around,but The Clash were in a different league and Joes voice and hard hitting/raw lyrics caught the mood of teen aged Britain! The Clash were and still are the best ever Punk band of all time!
@NewYorkCanWait15 жыл бұрын
The guitar at 1:34 is Joe. He sometimes did a continued strumming motion even though he wasn't hitting the strings. You can hear Mick's guitar come in at about 1:54 and it's much louder because he's the lead.

I never saw The Clash. I did see The Ramones, Rollins Band (they did some Black Flag stuff), Suicidal Tendencies, Danzig (they did some Misfits songs), Misfits (w/out Glenn Danzig... they did some Black Flag stuff with Dez Cadena singing lead), Madball (maybe you have heard of Agnostic Front?) You can still catch some of them. Danzig and Doyle are playing together 12/26 in NJ.

Nope, sorry. This is at the 1983 US Festival in San Bernardino, CA - which was Mick's last show with the band. And the drummer is Pete Howard, who replaced Terry Chimes (who had replaced Topper for the Combat Rock tour). Howard stayed on through the Cut The Crap album.

That's right I forgot Topper was out of the band by this time (shea stadium?) unfortunately got mixed up with drugs, but that's not tory crimes - their first drummer? who appeared on the first album, however there were two versions of that one -a bluish purple and a green cover which had different songs on them and I believe both Headon and Crimes as drummers.
