On the point review! I 've kept my 4a till now jumping around 5-6-7 and their variants because there was no point to it. pixel 8 was the main reason I upgraded because -hell!- 7 years of updates is a lot time and it stays very close to the 4a dimension-wise. I still use my 4a though. Just can't do without

Fantastic phone..!!! always a fan of this old school design. 3+ years still running fine, only issue was the battery which I've replaced recently and now it's perfectly fine like a new phone hoping to use it for the next 2 years🤞

Still rocking 4a since launch. Had no issues, its nice and light, not chunky like a lot of all the newer phones. Battery lasts all day and still at least 11% when I wake up in the morning. Miss the fingerprint sensor being on the back of phones as they're more responsive. The only reason I'm looking to replace my 4a is because the screen is a little small for long-term reading and I get a headache staring at it too long!

Exactly that's the trick. Looking around for the bang for buck. So many realise that the latest and greatest usually costs so much money, for less return. My pixel and Samsung aren't the newest but does more than needed!

They are awesome, good choice. They have the same chip as the normal and pro model so it's powerful enough. For a budget phone it is certainly worth the money

You need to compare to the pixel 4A 5g. It does have Android 14. It is at the end of its update cycle though with 14. I'm watching videos right now to determine if I want to get the 7a. It's only $374 brand new.

I wouldn't use cex anyway they over charge. Right now looking at my local Facebook marketplace I'm seeing them boxed at 45, 65, 50 in that order of them showing up. And you can test them in person before purchase. Worth looking there but it depends on area

This might be a lagging issue. Try a restart. If not then reboot into recovery mode and wipe dalvic cache. If that doesn't work it may be viable to completely wipe the phone and start a fresh.

I have not, this may be an isolated thing. Could be a degradation in the thermals inside or a cpu issue. I'd explore those 2 issue

@@kylereviews544 I think it is a CPU issue because it happens when I put it to work, I bought it reconditioned a few days ago and a few minutes ago it reached 111 F from listening to music with speakers while charging, would you know of any solution for this? There is not much information about it due to its age :(

Mine just recently died because the charger port, or something, went out and it will not charge now. It started with it only charging when I put pressure on the cable but then it was none at all; I took it to a couple of repair shops and they cleaned it and couldn't fix it. They ordered a new USB c port for it but still no luck. What should I do? I already ordered a used pixel 7 but I can still return it if I can fix this one. I have been happy with the 4a and was not planning on upgrading yet so I would like to keep it.

Assuming the usb c port can be charged that means it can still be used. However maybe you want to see this as a reason to upgrade too? Sell the old one and enjoy the newer pixel 7? If it was me I'd keep both. I've got my pixel and my s22 ultra. Why not have both? Lol

I had no luck getting the usb port fixed on my Poco phone ago. I still miss using it but I had to upgrade from it. Well it was really a downgrade because my money was lower then.

I have a Sony XZ1 Compact that i want to replace due to some problems, and i need a small phone but not an Iphone or an expensive one. This one would be an option but the processing power is slightly weaker than my XZ1C which was a flagship in 2017

@@Daniel_RO-TM check to see if there's a custom ROM close to stock? The pixel 4 sure does still run like a champ. Clock speed isn't everything. And with it being a pixel I bet there's a decent sized support for it in the modding world

You could replace your sony with a 4a but keep in mind that it should be in a good condition, mostly battery-wise and that after one year (or a little more, maybe) you 'll need to replace it as well because it will be (already is) truly old. If you have the money or are able to save some, go for rhe 8. You won't be disappointed 🎉!

Truth is it is fine to use as long as you're not side loading from dodgy websites or downloading illegal MP3 tunes haha. Stick to the play store only. It's the same 'rules' as using a newer phone to be honest.

One of the options yes :-) Make sure thst your checking and testing the phone BEFORE purchase and it can be returned if it is faulty. Can never be too sure with second hand devices.
