Sat down for three days to learn this one and boy was it worth it! What a great introduction to finger style guitar! Thanks for the awesome, nuanced tune and I will surely be checking out the rest of your channel!

Hes anchoring with his for arm isn't he ? I do this as well ! Think its probably cause hes had no formal lesson or self taught !?

He is an outstanding player, of course. Anchoring down? With Pinkie? Does anyone much do that? Most people I watch don't. Where did the idea come from, that one can only find the strings with one's pinkie fixed? It is garbage in my humble view and quite unnecessary. In fact, some of us can't easily as everyone's hands are different. My LH pinkie is 3cm shorter than my ring finger and it is hence very constraining to try and anchor it. If anchoring works for some people then 'fine', but idea that some teachers pushed for awhile it is good or preferred practice is just nonsense - ever seen a classical player do it?
@richardturbine17692 жыл бұрын
@@nibla17 I have no problem with those that it suits doing it. What I object to is some teachers suggesting that one should, or that it offers benefit. No classical or flamenco player does it and, again, most flattop players I watch, don’t, even if Tommy does. Tommy is a law unto himself, of course. People vary in how many fingers they pick with. I use three but not everyone does, some only use one or two.
@billvonruden11262 жыл бұрын
@@richardturbine1769 Whether flamenco or classical players use it or not is a "garbage" reason to put it down lol, the hand position for playing a classical or flamenco piece makes it impossible to anchor your pinky lol Also talking down about other techniques is dumb, guys like Doc Watson and some other fingerstyle players only play with three fingers and this would also be a no no in classical or flamenco
@thomasmorse4042 Жыл бұрын
When I finger pick I anchor with my pinkie. You do what works for you even Tommy Emmanuel says that. I have a wear track on my 64 Guild Polara electric from my anchoring. Not about to change now each to his own.

Oh thanks man! Well to be honest there were a few Ted Greene arrangements I posted that I took down as I really didn't like the recorded sound I was getting for my guitar. I researched it a bit more though and have bought a bit more gear, so will be uploading them again with my new gear and new archtop at some point :)
