I've been displeased with the basketball being played this year, but last night's game gave me so much joy to watch. Every single 3 pointer shot was within the system of both teams and came as a result of the defensive look in front of each of them. You could also see that both coaches have an incredible feel for the pulse of their teams. Best game of the year so far without a doubt!

@mrhoopfan1 there has been good basketball for sure. I'm not trying to say the opposite. I've just been disappointed with the way some teams play ball. It's just about what I particularly like, not about if it's bad or good basketball.
@Eltee1277 сағат бұрын
That game gave me chills. Just every possession two teams playing the way basketball should be played. It was anyone’s game to win in the end and CLE pulled it off. It was the best basketball I’ve seen in a lonnnnggggg time and fans deserve more of that. Whatever Adam silver has to do to get these teams on National TV more, get it done. There’s no way ratings stay trash with basketball like that.

I gotta give it up to Cavs. Wow. As an OKC fan I was both pissed to lose but so impressed by the Cavs on BOTH sides of the court. Their defensive schemes and execution were excellent! Their offense is incredible - if you shut someone off, multiple other players step up. Their offense is relentless and super fast.

First off, this game is sooo Gooood! 2 elite teams that have a chance to win it all this year! I’m ok with the loss cause even if it’s a high scoring game(strength of Cavs- # 1 in offense) , we came to play toe to toe with them. I love that OKC lose this one cause it’s better to improve than beat all the teams in the calendar. It also solidies the idea of you play within our strengths, then we will most likely to win this game. If it was a low scoring game, then HELL YEAH, Thunder is at 16th in a row right now. But this game, Cleveland won cause they played within their strengths Rebounding, 2 big lineups & shoutout to Atkinson with that zone, it stifled our offense down the stretch. These are things we need to improve on cause these are our weaknesses. Btw, your takes on this Rylan was great since I heard what I wanted to hear. #ThunderUp ⚡️

Cavs want Chet to play. They matchup better with perimeter bigs. They matchup better with okc when he plays. Also, Cavs just got back several injured players and were still missing two, on top of it being Okoro first game back, strus being on a minutes restriction and Donovan having a rare off night. Chet doesn’t make them clear the Cavs Also, as mobleys game unfolds, it won’t matter who plays as he is destined to be a top-5, if not top-3 player

Wembanyama's height is going to restrict his bulk. The taller and bigger a guy is, his joints are going to strain. I don't think he wants that extra mass. Even "wiry" strength may be a challenge. Very few 7 plus footers have managed long careers without lower extremity or back issues with additional weight. May have to accept him being slack. He's already missed a considerable amount of games in a season and a half at his current stature.

I think Wemby and Giannis is a similar case like Durant and LBJ. Wemby, like Durant, is more of a finesse player who shots over you. Giannis is more of a drive through power + speed specimen like LBJ was at his prime. So perhaps Wemby will never be this "go through" you type of a player?
@psychenautes6 сағат бұрын
I agree with you. That's not to say he doesn't need to add strength, because he does, but I don't really get the Giannis comparison in general besides they're both tall (tho Wemby makes Giannis look not that tall lol). Totally different skill sets, body types, and play styles. I just don't see Wemby ever being a straight line drive through guys, euro step/split defenders, and finish, and he doesn't need to be. I definitely see him more of a KD type, dribble drive, stop early and rise up over the defense for a short jumper, or just shooting outside, only really driving all the way to the rim when he's got an open lane like KD. The finesse vs power/speed player is a good way to look at it.

32:20 It was a good game but I don't like when we do this. Whatever is the most recent good or memorable game, we forget everything else and say that was the best. I think the Warriors and Lakers as well as the Spurs and Knicks on Christmas day were both better games. If you want to say its the most consistent game quarter by quarter then okay I guess. But that game was done by the time the Cavs went up by half dozen points in the 4th. Then it became clear OKC was at a disadvantage due to missing Chet and Caruso.

Easily? Idk about that. Spida won't have a horrible game again. Mobley played well but he can still take it to another level. Allen would smash Chet in the paint. But yes Thunder is a terrifying team. As a Cavs fan I'm extremely concerned about facing them in the Finals if both make it.
@dearmas90685 сағат бұрын
Nah. The Cavs still got them beat. Mobley is better than Chet, and the Cavs coach is betterthan OKC's. The Cavs literally ran the same slip screen play in the 4th quarter, like, 8 times and every one ended in an open dunk - except for one where they fouled Mobley. Thats not an issue with a missing player. Thats a scheme issue. Chet doesn't change that. SGA and Chet are awesome, but the Cavs just have too many weapons.

Chet has missed 60% of all available games since becoming an nba player. Caruso isn't nearly the stud people act like and he plays 50 games a season as well. It'll be a good fight for sure but don't disrespect us after getting beat. Especially with the refs helping you all night.

@sammyttheg412 there was no disrespect. It's how dude feels. Its true that their second best player was out and it's exactly where the cavs took advantage and won the game. It was close enough for a home court advantage to be a deciding factor. You are disrespecting if u think otherwise.
@inandoutoftheabyss99537 сағат бұрын
Cavs would play better against Chet. They want to play Chet. They play better against perimeter oriented bigs. Also, the Cavs had Okoro JUST return that game, max strus on minutes restriction and Mitchell missed shots he usually makes. Chet would haven’t made a difference in the score other than maybe increasing the difference.

Hey Feiny5008! Appreciate your even keeled and thoughtful feedback! We always start the show with some quick hitters. They're short topics from around the association. We do that because we want to get as many different teams involved as possible. Then in segment two, we go into our deep dive and dissect one single game. This is the structure we use so that we don't have to interrupt the flow with a commercial break during the analysis. We love talking about who ever is good, and recently the players and teams you mentioned have been good, so we've probably talked about them, but we don't prioritize any team, city, or player above any other one. Honestly, we wish we could talk about every team, except WHICH EVER ONE YOU LIKEEEEEEEEE! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@PweeBurntPizza4 сағат бұрын
@@ALLCITY_NBAYou guys do a fantastic job at covering the important topics. As a Cavs fan I know that we will be a secondary story compared to the big markets. Which is what the league wants you guys to do. But if the NBA would just promote more of the better teams their ratings would spike.
@somedudeontwitterstalkedme38295 сағат бұрын
For all of those new to seeng Cleveland and OKC play, this is how both of these teams play all the time, this was the basketball Cavs have been playing all season. The issue is the present NBA is at the dying embers of the "Big 3 Era" so all of the data being using to prop up Boston over OKC and Cleveland is based off of those metrics. Cavs are not going to 7-8 man rotation in the Playoffs, that would allow teams that are top heavy like Boston, Philly, Bucks, Lakers, Phoenix, New York, Clippers to play to their strength and negate their's. Over a 7 game series, with all the minutes piled on during the regular season of these play guys 40 mins and then rest them a game, with the Cavs playing their guys at most 30 mins, every 3 games played is another game played by Brunson minutes wise, so games off becomes negated. Turning the regular season into cardio, the fresher legs of the Cavs will gain the physical advantage, we have seen the last of what people call the 3-D wing defender being a thing, that concept has morphed, other teams will not be able to handle the wave after wave of movement and players for 7 games, because it has been shown only Lebron can overcome depth and ball movement, even he ended up only going 4-6 doing it that way. Go Cavs!
@davidlewis26815 сағат бұрын
Thank God Altman moved on from JB Bickerstaff shoulda done that bfr last season..Cavs almost lost Donovan Mitchell because of it...he had no idea how to use these guys..they didnt add anyone but a draft pick...
