I was a teenager when they built that. I rode up and down the grade on my dirtbike. My buddy and used the buried culverts for jumps. That was it.

WOW! That is just awesome sounding...we have horseshoe curve out east here in Pennsylvania USA, but I am sure that mountain grade pales in comparison to this one.

Oppsssss Notch 8 ... I've been to Notch Hill, if there ever was a Notch 10 those engines would be in it !!! Thanks for the correction. :o)

Modern high hp locos are impressive sounding, but nothing like the turbocharged non-muffled EMDs, GEs, and Alcos of the 60's-90's

month or 2 back cp engineer told me the grade on here or (new grade) is 2.2% so there you go guys now you know ;) btw i will be railfanning here in summer of 2010 near the end of july with my uncle who lives in salmon arm! "D
