The Closing Logos of Friends (With Small Bonus)

As a thank you for reaching 2000 subscribers, I've decided to do a run down of the original logos used on Friends. Now this is a big deal because of the lack of videos showcasing all of the logos used on the original prints. And that is because of the lack of sources containing them. Because of later releases cutting them off, syndication and the HD masters, it has become near impossible to find a good high quality source with the original logos.
However, I was able to find out that the PAL DVD releases of Friends retain all of the original logos. This is a big plus over the NTSC DVD releases which are a disaster in terms of logos. It is what has allowed me to create this project. It was a bit small so I've included another show as well. I will be showcasing these in separate videos to give some details about them later. With all of that said, enjoy the run down of logos from such a classic show!

Friends is one of the best NBC shows out there, It's memorable because of two things, nearly every episode title start with The One and the theme song as well. Congrats on reaching 2,000 subs, and least I'm glad that the PAL DVD's preserved everything.

There was something so comfy and cozy about that little window of time in the early 2000's. It wasn't quite as warm and fuzzy like the 90's, but also wasn't sobering and saddening like the late 2000's. It was this beautiful little window of time where you had hope. And wanted to move to New York City into an apartment overlooking Central Park, and wanted to get your life started.

The PAL DVD releases have the original NBC broadcast versions which is why the original logos are left intact. The NTSC DVD box set releases have the international versions which is why the logos are not shown at all in those US releases. I read that the Complete Series Blu-Ray release retain the NBC broadcast versions.

Yeah, I knew I had seen it from somewhere, and given it's bound to cause a few jumps, it'd be worth taking note of it. Althought I think where I spotted it was on a later printing when Comedy Central started airing it and plastered the 94 logo with the 2004 one. Wasn't any fade out, there was like 2-3 seconds of silence between the last note of the show's theme, followed up by the WBTV 94 fanfare out of nowhere

This Is From The Pal DVD Releases Of Friends. Which Is The Only Known Home Media Release To Keep All Logos Intact. Any NTSC Pitched Logos Heard Could Indicate A Low Tone Version.

On Comedy Central UK airings, they remove the Warner Bros ending sound and remove that scene. While on Channel 5 which have just started airing it, they keep it.

With the NTSC DVD releases, the episodes would fade out just before the logos appear. Only a few episodes (usually the last episode on the discs) would have logos appear after the fade out. The original WB logos from the respective eras were usually replaced as well. With the earliest seasons, the 2000 WBTV logo would appear. The middle seasons would use the 2001 WBTV logo, and the last few seasons would have the 2003 WBTV logo.

Nenad Nikolic In case you didn't know, all Friends episodes were released in an uncut format on DVD in the US, and later worldwide. These transfers omitted the logos except for on season 7 and a few episodes from the rest of the series. The HD remasters aired on HDTV and released on Blu-ray Disc not only omit the additional footage from the DVD, but also plaster the WBTV logo, irrespective of what episode of what season, with the standard widescreen 2003 WBTV logo with the URL.

NBC used to be my favorite channel because of this sitcom and Will & Grace. However, I decided to switch to ABC in favor of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. I think NBC, along with the CW, has made plenty of shows produced by Warner Bros. Television.

What I hated about Warner Bros. Television is that it kept giving me nightmares as a kid. How? By unnecessarily catching me off-guard with its loud 1994 fanfare when I'm not expecting it. Because of this, I've stopped liking Warner Bros. in favor of 20th Century Fox and Paramount.
