With each performance, the host, panelists, audience, viewers and even the other contestants are left guessing who is singing behind the mask. The singers may attempt to throw off the crowd, but keen observers might pick up on tiny clues buried throughout the show. Each week, a singer is eliminated -- and then reveals his or her true identity.

Vanessa definitely became a star overnight. The slipper could be “Princess Switch” or a more general connection to Disney and her teenage fame. The two kisses showed after she mentions edgier waters makes me think of her performance as Maureen in “RENT Live!” and maybe Spring Breakers. I also want to point out that for anyone saying she sounds too theatrical to be VH compared to someone like KC, Vanessa has four professional/Broadway credits and she has definitely had training for it all since her HSM days. In her song, Vampire seems to be a very very obvious connection to Olivia and Hudgens sharing the role of Gabriella, she’s played a vampire, and her vocal inflections and level of nasality in her voice fits how VH has always sung.

I’m thinking Carly Rae Jepsen. “Overnight sensation” may refer to both her run on Canadian Idol and “Call Me Maybe” becoming a hit and making her a household name outside of Canada. The kisses could be a reference to Carly Rae’s album “Kiss”. And she also played Cinderella in the revival of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical on Broadway. Only thing I’m stumped on is the ship’s wheel. The glass slipper is because she was in Princess Switch, and she’s played Cinderella in local theatre when she was younger 3.) She chose Olivia Rodrigos song because they both technically played Gabriella Montez in HSM 4.)
