Once had a dental surgeon tell me on the phone to rinse my oozing surgical site (extracted wisdom tooth!) with chlorox bleach and then he thought about what he just said and followed up with "and then call me so I know you are ok!" hahaha!

Oh oh oh the acid base thing is something I learned a few months ago! Basically when you get something acidic in your eye, there are natural buffers within the eye that will help neutralize the acid to an extent and keep it from penetrating further and causing more damage. If you get an alkaline liquid in your eye, theres no buffers for alkaline so it can stay just as strong and penetrate deeper and cause more damage. Sorry using layman's terms I know theres other mechanisms that play a part but yeah, from what I was taught that's why alkali is worse for your eyes than acid (they're both bad though, please dont put fluids in your eyes that arent meant for your eyes)

Rana Awdish, MD is hilarious, brilliant, and compassionate. Medicine needs more like her. Will check out her book, thanks.

As someone with EDS and the genetics on both sides and the long undiagnosed poor proprioception-- "growing pains" and "genetic clumsy" were definitely something I used to think were real. Being able to fall down at any time is awesome. Thinking that your family is cursed or that maybe you did something awful in a former life in spite of not believing in those things can be a challenge. I think I have fallen down more flights of stairs, run into more walls, and tripped over my own foot (singular -- I just need one foot to trip), than I've probably made it walking safely down any of those things prior to having proprioception training. And I still need to walk like Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady with a book on my head to avoid it. The worst, though, is when you get blindsided by something that you couldn't be aware of like those grown over booby trap holes in the grass or if something just falls on you. Yeah just dropping things happens all the time, that's normal. But I had my terrible crappy apartment have a ceiling fan collapse on my head in the kitchen, and had it knock down several vases and wine bottles as it came down and then as I was trying to avoid the blades I slipped on one smaller wine bottle, and landed full force on my hip / SI joint on a big wine bottle, all in a pile of broken glass. How did that happen? FML, that's how.

A friend of mine once got a little potassium permanganate in his eye. He was handling a bottle of it, it had a little on the outside, and he rubbed his eye after. He had to spend a while at the hospital with his eye being flushed. Apparently it was thoroughly painful.

During my first day as a Student Nurse in a surgical ward I was assigned a patient to bed bathe. So with curtains drawn I started the task. In the next bed I could hear muffled groans & moans, then all of a sudden a fellow student ran out calling for staff to come quickly. I stopped what I was doing & ventured outside the curtain & there was the student. I asked her what had happened & she said in an exasperated voice that as she was turning the (obese) patient (by herself), that the (abdominal) sutures (40cm midline) had broken and that the patient’s bowel was spilling out.

I think @OneMondBand meant well, and creators should look at all audience perceptions, at least early on. My 2 cents, for what it’s worth: I find myself hoping that Lady G. will relax over time - perhaps choose a more comfortable chair (very fidgety and leaning forward), slow speech rate a tad, and match Dr. G’s tone of affectionate banter while still being herself. Perhaps stress, nerves, and time pressures (not appearing entirely in the moment) are showing? Doc G. clearly recognizes and appreciates as the essential powerhouse behind the LLC, as do we! HUGE THANKS to Lady G. for everything from being a tiny powerhouse doing lifesaving CPR on the big guy to running the LLC, all the channels, and the many things we don’t see. I do think the business/marketing/grind side of the LLC needs to remain a bit hidden - Audiences want to see the creative content and not feel like dollar signs (even though we are!).
