I did a blind taste test with all of them being coke. Can, glass bottle, plastic bottle, and fountain. There was a difference and my list was as follows: in first place was fountain, then can, then glass bottle, then plastic. And if I had to rate them individually I would give the fountain a 9.6, can a 9.1, glass bottle an 8.9, and plastic a 6.9. I’ve never seen anyone compare the different ways coke is available and to me there is a big difference between some

This exact same study, known as the "Sip Test" or Central Location Test was done in the early 1980's. Coke was worried about Pepsi as a competitor, although coke already had majority of the market, Pepsi was seemingly catching up in sales. Even though, Coke was much more widely available and spent over $100 million more on advertising. The test was ran the same exact way, and 57 percent of the time, people chose Pepsi. Avid Coke Drinkers were astonished (much like our lord and savior ReviewBrah). This news was devastating to Coca Cola and the race was on the create a newer, lighter flavor, that became known as "The New Coke". During additional Sip test, Coke changed its product enough that it was scoring nearly exactly the same as Pepsi during the tests. Coke was incredibly happy and they released it, thinking it would be an incredible new product and beat every competitor... it failed. Horribly. People hated it. But strangely, Pepsi didn't increase much in sales either, despite all Coke drinkers demanding the Classic Coke flavor to come back. Why: It turns out that in a sip test, most people will pick something that is slightly sweeter, which is Pepsi. But here's the thing, nobody opens a can of soda and just takes a sip in a controlled environment unless reviewing a product or for a video. You sit on the couch, eat dinner, watch a move, enjoy a sporting event...and you drink the whole can, which changes how you feel about the flavor of something. Also, nobody casually drinks things blind, we associated the red can, the bold lettering, the image of polar bears playing in the snow and sharing an ice cold glass bottle with their children. We associate images, we unconsciously have feelings attached, even though we don't actively think about it. -"blink" by Malcom Gladwell, summarized by myself Reviewbrah showed this perfectly, and as always, conducted it flawlessly. I had some New Coke a few weeks ago, I actually prefer it to "Coke Classic" and Pepsi. It was sweeter, lighter, you could drink more of it and not feel "weighed down" as much. It was somewhere between RC Cola and Pepsi to me. I wish it was available full time. FYI, when "Coke Classic" came back, after 85 days, it was with High Fructose Cory Syrup. The same people who protested "Coke Classic" leaving, now protested the changing of the formula using a different sugar source. Sadly, the re-released New Coke (Stranger Things 2019 S3 tie-in) is with HFCS, not cane sugar

@BigGScotland < Soft drinks are subjective, what one might consider sweet and smooth might taste a little bitter yet smooth. To me Coke might taste slightly more bitter than Pepsi which is not necessarily a bad thing. Guess to each their own. ;)
