the madlad has done it again. Been a MAJOR fan since your shanty covers blew up in 2021, and yet somehow you still manage to floor me with your skill and talent with every new release. Thanks for being the best in the business, Cap'n! this banger'll be on repeat for weeks. God bless!

I too discovered his work somewhat recently. It began with his "main theme" for the then-untitled Assassin's Creed Valhalla. What really got me hooked was his cover of "When Horns Resound".

YESSS I remember on one of your other shanty vids you asked everyone to name their pirate ship and I commented Colm before the Storm, it's too perfect to not be a name for either your band or album (as long as people actually know how to pronounce 'Colm' correctly LOL)

I came across The Last Shanty thanks to the Derina Harvey Band--what a great song! It's so much fun to hear your take on it. Perhaps you might also try an other they've done, the Last Saskatchewan Pirate? Another shanty genre that might interest you--we have some specific to the Great Lakes! There's a book of them titled "Windjammers" and you might like "It's Me for the Inland Lakes" or "Red Iron Ore" (that latter one was made famous for us Michigan 80s kids by Kitty Donohoe, who did several other lovely Michigan folk songs!). Great work on this album, would love to support you through another Bandcamp purchase, as I often go places where I don't have access to streaming music and would love to have this music on my old iPod for those treks!

@colm mcguinness Mate, the swedish band Civil War did a metal song on the Battle of Clontarf called Dead Man's Glory. I think it deserves your attention. That, and there's a bunch of Irish American civil war folk songs by David Kincaid like Irish Volunteer that also deserve your touch.
