I like the sermon. But lots of questions about the fall of Adam. Was God caught off guard by Satan? Or does HE deliberately leave room for surprises because of “free-will” HE gave man. If “yes”, was there any explanation about what that meant to Adam? When God knew Satan could distrust HIS divine plan for man and HE kept Adam in the dark then why punish him when he fell for a trick of an angel that is way more sophisticated than him? I’m a believer seeking clarity beyond “God gave Adam free-will” answer.

14:11 is false Adam was made in the image and likeness of God. That's why when he fell, the nature of God in hum was stripped off of him.

Good day Sir, I understand you. The purpose of God was to *make* man as God intended in Genesis 1:26. The process of creation started in Vs 27. So God *created* man: male and female created HE them. This was the seed of eternity, as in thought. But the actual artistic creation was in Genesis 2:7, where man was created with clay or the dust of the earth and become a *Living soul*. Man was not yet made as God intended in Genesis 1:26. The last step was for man to eat the fruit of Life to quicken him to be highly spiritual (the nature of God: for God is a spirit)

In the university of Lagos we had this precious course mate of ours who could stand up in the middle of a mathematical class and boldly tell a professor of mathematics “that is wrong!, it is not so, it is not supposed to be like this and this” Kai! That was strange, in fact it was abomination. Until one of such days, he was roundly rebuked by the Professor and all his course mates and to make it more terrible for him, he was given an opportunity to solve a problem he condemned on the board and he fumbled so terribly. I shared that story to say for anyone to boldly say “this is false” is huge o. Yes, Adam was created in the image and the likeness of God, according to scripture. It means therefore that,we must deeply understand the concepts of “image” and “likeness” before we can attack the Apostle’s statement. SO SAD.
