@TDBarrett the bust popping up (X thru the gem) when scouting means they have normal dev and will cap out at a lower ovr but a gem popping up means they are star or higher so they develop faster and have a higher max ovr. If nothing pops up, they can be anything. You should be pursuing gems and regular players more than busts (unless that bust is a Bart Duck type of talent). Also look through current players devs to see who can be superstars and whatnot so you can plan better for the future.

8:14 while you are in the view roster area, you can check players’ dev trait (elite, star, impact, normal) by pressing triangle or Y (View Player Card.) You should do this at the start of your franchises to see what you have and during National Signing Day to see devs of signed recruits.

Brett busts/gems have more to do with the player’s dev trait, busts will progress slower and plateau at a lower overall, while gems have a potential to be 90+ overall at some point. So unless a bust has an insane skill set off rip and you don’t care about them progressing a bunch, don’t go for busts 👍

@TDBarrett For your recruiting instead of doing only recommended. You need to start first with where your coaches pipeline is for example for Colorado your pipeline should be close to your school. Then go to that state and add all the 5 and 4 stars from that state. Then go to the search bar on the prospect list then search the position you need the most that u didn’t see form your state and search top 8. Add all of them to your board. This gives you the best chance to be in the mix for all the top prospects. Know your school and it’s ok to go ahead and add the 3 stars early if that who is interested cause you want need as many recruiting points to get them if you offer them early.

Brett just scout and try to stack gems, also check their dev trait in signing day. Normal devs will have skill caps, where as star and elite have higher caps making them more valuable.

Yo td some tips on recruiting… I would go for like 15-18 recruits that are 4-5 star towards the beginning of recruiting and slowly add more guys as you get more hours in the off-season. That way you can be sure to get some studs without having to worry about 30 guys on your board
