The Colourist (We Won't Go Home) - Wilcox Session

I have a weakness for bands with lady drummers (they have such toned arms!), and when they sing on top of that, it's over. So when the Colourist reached out, we had to get something going. Maya did not disappoint, and was the sweetest to boot, and of course the rest of the guys brought it as well, even if one of them was a little worse for wear from the night before (won't name names). A few mimosas did the trick, and the sunny energy from these California kids shone. Looking forward to seeing more from the Colourist -- will definitely stay tuned. xoxo menaka

I cannot freaking wait to see them live in a couple of weeks! I absolutely love Maya's work. The loud, hollow, rumble of drums. This is such an awesome take. I saw these guys open for Panic! at the Disco in Minnesota this year. I really enjoy listening to them :D My only piece of constructive criticism: they need to add a bit of excitement to their live performances. The drummer is rockin' out, but all the other bandmates look a bit bored; almost as if they're just going through the motions. For example, @ 2:50 (when the lead guitar kicks in) the guitarist just sort of sways back and forth with a blank expression on his face.

Jesse Flores Actually, he's not. They probably had her record her vocals separately from playing and standing up. It's just better to sing standing up, though it's cool to have a drummer sing live cause 98% of the time they don't, it's not the best for singing.
