A trip to the Isle of Iona, exploring the colours that make up the stunning Sound of Iona Tartan. A loving evocation of the wonderful geographical and historical sights that make up this beautiful island.

My ancestors come from Iona....came to Canada. I enjoyed seeing my heritage for the first time in this video.

This reminded me of a song that Alastair Gilles used to sing "The Dark Island", which was about Benbecula, not Iona. Making a tartan featuring the colours of the Isle of Iona is a great idea. Hornby makes a OO gauge locomotive called 'The Isle of Iona' which hauls a SERCO test train which coincidentally features a red and grey livery that somewhat reflects the colours of the island featured on the tartan!

You left the bloody gate open! You know, those sheep on Iona - they're posessed. There's always one and usually black one with white streaks, that just sits there and wants the better part of your scones and waterbottle and will block the way to your destination. Oh, how do it's eyes glare. But Iona was an amazing experience when I was visiting it some 15 years ago. Ah!
