Great video! I just recently switched out my Diamondback firearms gov't profile 16" bbl for a Rosco K9 13.9". I decided id just build a full upper so I did same as you and went with BCM reciever and MCMR 13" rail to house the Rosco. The DB15 upper was way overgassed. I put a Tubbs flatwire spring to see if that could tame some of the kick along with a Spikes 4oz buffer. With new Rosco I'm unsure if the weight and spring are too much because ejection is at like 5 o'clock. I haven't had issue yet with bolt locking back. Do you have any opinions on Tubbs spring??

@operatorsanonymous1741 I really appreciate you responding. I have one in a 6.5 CM that has under 200 rounds. It's babied along like a bolt gun, so it could have snuck by long enough time for me to purchase another in a hard use gun. Not good. I've never owned one before now. I've worn out a couple of Milspc phosphate in my years and had no fun cleaning them. I did buy a couple of Melonite. I'll pass on NB in the future. They are all pretty low round count so far. I know you've mentioned 3 you like. If you only had one to choose, what would it be? What about DLC?

Whats more is it's properly gassed with or without my suppressor on it. The BA had a out of spec gas port on the barrel, resulting in pleasant suppressed shooting but not reliable without the can. Ive had good luck with BA 223W HANSON PREMIUM BLACK SERIES Barrels over the years . I recently snagged BA 556N 13.9 HF CL Hanson at pretty good price . Im curious how well it will perform . Once my 223W Hanson barrel is shot out . I do wanna snag Roscoe K9 GREENLINE Barrel . I have right at 6k rounds on my 223W Hanson barrel and its on my main 2Gun Rig . I've never had Centurion or Criterion barrel let me down . Both have performed as advertised. I do favor that Cone shaped barrel Profile . Thats why K9 barrels intrigue me . I as well cannot stand Gov Profile barrels. For the longest time ive stayed away from SOLGW barrels due to the Gov Profile. Now SOLGW has the V2 Profile that looks promising. Colt Uppers and Colt BCG/BOLTS were my go too for 15+ years. About 3 or 4 years ago i switched to BCM BLEM Stripped Uppers and SOLGW BCG/BOLTS. For Lowers i only use 3 and all 3 ive had for long time . I have orginal Aero M4E1 Lower that i installed PDQ Ambi Bolt CATCH . I do not remeber when i bought this lower but i know it was 3 or 4 years before CV . LWRCI IC Lower ive been using since 2014 . Lastly Colt Lowers . Ive been using Colt in general since 2006 so id be lying if i said i wasnt bias lol . Ive been using BRT EZ Tune Gas tubes for a while now and ive figired out the formula to use in each rig . 13.9 Suppressed ususes 0.073 Tube with Springco White / H2 and YHM TURBO K-RB for 0400 oclock ejection. 13.9 LW Rig uses 0.076 Tube with Springco Yellow / BCM Car Buffer for 4 oclock ejection. 14.5 uses 0.073 Tube with LW BCG , Springco Yellow/1.7oz buffer on my main 2Gun Rig . Sorry for the long comment . I just get excited talking about this stuff . I shoot a lot of 2Gun Matches and its my only hobby lol

I enjoy lighter profiles as well, however they tend to not do well with heat and stringing. Even worse so with cans, creating more droop due to the weight which leads to vertical stringing. Had a guy out here with one a few weeks ago. I have limited experience but the sample size of one I got from that one it was good. I believe it's a BA barrel but Sons goes over them with a fine tooth comb so they're usually good to go.

When you mounted your scope you pushed it forward on the rifle , I thought mounting optics was the opposite and you wanted lug to lug contact? Im genuinely asking not trying troll ...

Recoil pushes back so it needs to be pushed forward for the lug to lug contact
@prob7w
@prob7w 16 сағат бұрын
Like stated , wouldn't it make sense to have the recoil lugs already butted up against each other so movement can't happen?
@vancehadley3962
@vancehadley3962 15 сағат бұрын
@@prob7w yeah think about it. You push it forward because recoil pushes back on the rifle therefore pushing on the forward lugs of the scope mount.
@operatorsanonymous1741
@operatorsanonymous1741 9 сағат бұрын
@prob7w momentum of the optic pushes it forward with the rearward movement of the rifle under recoil. It would eventually stop once the lugd reach the forward slot on the upper but you'll have a zero shift til it does.

Any issues with all these different tolerance stacking going on?
@operatorsanonymous1741
@operatorsanonymous1741 Күн бұрын
@revolutionanarchy713 nope if you use quality components it's really not that big of an issue. "Spec" for an AR is really wide.
@revolutionanarchy713
@revolutionanarchy713 Күн бұрын
@ yeah different tolerances doesn’t mean less quality and that’s not what I was meaning and yes I’m aware it’s wide which is why I asked, based on all those manufacturers having varying tolerances did you have any issues. I assume not. Something to point out maybe to newbies that tolerance staking still happens with quality stuff and something to be aware of.
@revolutionanarchy713
@revolutionanarchy713 Күн бұрын
@ also in/out of spec isn’t tolerance staking. It can happen because of it yes.
@operatorsanonymous1741
@operatorsanonymous1741 Күн бұрын
@revolutionanarchy713 it can happen, but it's rare. There isn't a whole lot that goes into building them. I've only built around 100 rifles and with companies like BCM, Sons of Liberty, and Rosco it's never been a problem. (For me)
@revolutionanarchy713

@ agreed, and same here, why I ask because I avoid tolerance stacking when building or at limit as much as possible instead of having every single part be different. Great videos btw.

Some painful truth for you. With your combat carbine, you’re more likely to die from maneuvering than by gunfire. I’m sure you have good advice to share, but I’d lose the combat angle. You’re talking the talk, but you’re belly says you’re not walking the walk.
