The Comeback | Schwalbe G One RS Tyre Review

In January 2024, I sustained an injury and required surgery. After intense rehabilitation I decided to focus on a 100miler gravel bike race to as my comeback race.
Starting my new job at UR Cycling allowed me to get my hands on the Schwalbe G One RS Tyres. With all the testing I’ve done in the past I knew I needed a fast tyre to go and race the 100 miler as it was not just a gravel race, but also the National Gravel Champs. I knew I needed to be ready with my setup, nutrition and gain every advantage possible and I am glad to report that all the planning, training, research and effort paid off in a 6th position at the National Gravel Champs.
The SCHWALBE - G-ONE RS 45 C - Super Race Transparent Skin is the new gravel race tire from Schwalbe and combines road speed with cyclocross grip. Compared to the Schwalbe G-One R, the new G-One RS has a semi-slick surface that reduces rolling resistance by 20 percent and thus meets the demand for more speed.
My experience with the tyres:
Pros :
Fast rolling & efficient
Excellent grip for a semi slick tyre
Very fast tyre
Comfortable
Strong for a racing tyre
Cons:
Expensive
For wet conditions might more knobs
On fast corners slightly slippery

Had a similar injury, with the whole thigh bone cracked from the join down. The recovery was surprisingly fast. What's your opinion on the RS puncture resistance ? I have 42 pathfinders which are pretty indestructible but would like a wider tire and the RS 45 would fit my frame. Just getting random punctures on race days is just no my flavor.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah those injuries aren’t great. But you need rehab. So the R/S on South African gravel would not be the average choice however them holding up in the race in my previous video does carry some positivity. I would recommend them and just recommend the correct pressure

Hi do you think this tires are more easy to get punctures or flats against pathfinders o any racing tire? How many milles do you think could last this tires? Thanks a lot

@@gabrielmarias972 hi, I do think you could get more punctures Due to the high tpi. I’ve been riding them quite a bit on the road and still look good. But you will definitely not get the kind of mileage as opposed to the other tyres.
