Sorry, but both words Russian and Moscow are of Bulgarian origin. Rus (Russian) is from the Bulgarian king titles put before their name URUS (mighty/strong) who ruled in Russia, long before Russia was born on the historic map. Moscow derives from the Bulgarian word Mosha (a fly) because in the beginning it was a minor peasant territory which later became a city. There are a lot Russian words of ancient Bulgarian origin. I do not believe that "Rosh" applies to Russian.

The Left Behind novels uses the pre-rapture timing for the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy. I have for a while have thought this prophecy will occur shortly after the rapture but most likely to occur before the treaty being signed between Antichrist and Israel. This timing would allow for the seven years required for Israel to burn/destroy their enemy's weapons. I believe the rapture is the next event in the prophecy timeline. Of course, all in God's good timing... See video at 31:34 for a couple of minutes for Chip's three thoughts on the timing. 1. Pre-rapture event 2. Early in the Tribulation after the rapture event 3. End of Great Tribulation in union with the Battle of Armageddon event

In the O.T., from the Prophecies of Daniel, Ezekiel, Zachariah, Jeremiah, and Psalm, narrated that the Battle of Gog & Magog will kickstart first before the Final Battle of Armageddon... while in the N.T. from the Book of Revelation, the Battle of Armageddon will kickstart first (Rev. 16:16) before the Final Battle of Gog & Magog (Rev. 20:8)... Pastor, do you have a modern day reference to the list in Genesis - The Sons of Noach? Ex. Japhet, and the modern nations today such as Magog=Russia. Ashkenaz is western Germany or other parts of Eastern Europe. I thought Gomer was Germany. As for Gomer, Meshach, Tubal/Tuval, those are ancient cities in Turkey and their names remain as such today. Tubal = migrated to Georgia known as the Iberians, and the others from the tribe migrated west to Tuscany, to the Basque people of Spain, though some sources claim the Basque originated in Turkey. In Ezekie's time, the far north for him would have been Turkey, but if those tribes migrated north the land of Rus, to Viking Russia, then i makes sense. Rurik the Viking prince ruling Russia, so the Iranian Scythians became the Russians. Why crush and Israel/the Jews? Please read your Bible and study for yourself. Refer to the latest teaching of Chuck Smith in these scriptures. He too once was teaching similar interpretations but later on changed his views and teaching. This interpretation of Russia is biased. If studied correctly and historically, then the text would refer to the Iran and Turkey alliance of the Islamic stated. Further more .. has the 1000 year reign took place ? For the full picture to blend in. Teaching must be contextual that means chronology of Biblical events are not to be just all piled together, taken out of context and thrown in your face to feed you whatever political agenda. Hi, Yes, Russia hasn't got anything to do with Ezekiel 38-39.. The nations God gave Ezekiel( or should I say, spoke through the prophet) were nations that were the previous soviet satellite nations around Turkey, and the main ones were the ethnic groups in Turkey around the time of Ezekiel.
