Goodbye George( Commander Cody) Frayne we will miss you & the fine band of Lost Planet Airmen . One of the very best to come out of the 70s . Lucky to have seen them in 74 in MD. Thanks for the memories & we are still LOST IN THAT OZONE !!!
@GreggT23 Жыл бұрын
I saw them open for New Riders of the Purple Sage in Oct 73 at the Fox in Atlanta. My first real concert, I had just turned 18. They played a few songs and then this fat dude got up from the piano and sang Hot Rod Lincoln, and I knew that was Commander Cody. Gosh that was almost 50 years ago!

Snuck in backstage before one of his shows in 1973. The Commander was sitting there with a bottle of Jack. He offered me some and we drank til he went on. He came back to town in 2010 at an outdoor venue. During one of the breaks I told him I owed him a drink so we went to a bar next door and started breaking balls and drinking Tequila. The band had to come find him because they were 15 min late starting back up! Lol Great guy!

Great guy. He bought me a beer before a show one time. He was sitting at the bar drinking a Heineken. I walked right up and said, “Commander?” He turned, stuck out his hand and said, “Call me George!” We got along great. He even told me if I was ever in town look him up and he’d have me out to the house. Saw him a couple times and he always had time to visit. Put on a helluva show too. RIP George!

I was fortunate enough to see CC & The Lost Planet Airmen in May 1974. They were headlining over Bachman Turner overdrive who already had a hit with 'Let it Ride'. CC put on one of the best concerts I have seen. Billy C Farlow out front on vocals and the great musicians that made up the band were rockin' that night.
