I just watched this movie again , while running on my tred mill , I've seen it at least 30 times and still laugh all the way threw it ... The whole cast are brilliantly talented .... I hope my video tape of this great movie , never Wares out ! # love The Commitments !

@@nikcrosina From the Irish Times: "Alan Parker had originally hoped to land none other than Van Morrison himself for the role of the film’s trumpet player Joey “The Lips” Fagan-but the role eventually went to stage actor Johnny Murphy instead. Murphy also happened to be the only member of the cast to not play their own instruments." So, they were all talented singers and musicians and had never acted, except for Johnny Murphy, who had acted but didn't play an instrument.

No doubt about it, the film was brilliant and the soundtrack even better. It stands as a credible album of its own accord. To me this vid' can be summed up in one word - fun. Everyone is clearly enjoying themselves - 'wish I could have been there!

We could not believe how good this movie and the music was...My wife and I were in a band called Jubilee....down along the Snake...from Weiser to Jordan Valley. And it was a lot like this movie...Our signature piece was Snowbird...believe It!

LOVE IT! My boyfriend happened to have a 2005 red Mustang with black stripes. Great little car, even if it wasn't a convertible. One day in 2018, his beloved car was rear-ended (totalled). As if that wasn't bad enough, one of his cats-Tom-died and he had to bury him in his yard. His female cat-Squeaky Long Tail-had died not long before and so did my 2 female Border Collie cousins-Little Bo Peep and Gypsy Rose Lee. We both loved our babies-including Bill's Mustang I wanted to get a front tag entitled Sally for him, but never got the chance. Its trunk would never hold my wheelchair now.
