its not the studio version from what I can tell. I reckon its a different mix that sounds live or one from a live show. Who knows.

I love the joy this song brings... Healthy fun. I think in the 80s people who listened to this and enjoyed it, was probably the more free people back then because society was more conservative still specially with music, parties, night life. I think maybe the LGBT community was protected and celebrated by this kind of groups, right? While in those people families and general society (job, education) being lgbt was still hard and you had to be discreet. I didn't live those years, but the 70s and 80s music and period just fascinates me.❤

You have no idea how hard it was. Section 28 for a start! We were not protected. We were vilified, abused, and marginalised. It was hell.

Part of the soundtrack of my youth! Loved dancing (and simultaneously singing) to Bronski and the Communards! Still have CD's! And Jimmie was so adorable! Still looks good....wonder if he still does that sexy booty shaking dance? };c)

The world has Vince Clark to thank for the plethora of amazing synthpop hits - the man is a musical genius. And an extremely wealthy one at that.

Nile Rogers take on how a this song ended up with Sheila is a funny one. The French record label approached them and they wanted Sheila to break worldwide. Nile and Bernard rejected so many offers and had no intention of doing a song with Sheila until a Frenchman from the record company with an eye watering amount of money.
