In the 80s My sister was the coolest person I knew. She listened to this song, and introduced me to Rage on ABC tv . We lived in a small town in western Queensland, Australia. This song reminds me of the cherished parts of our otherwise abusive childhood. Set me free!🙂 best song ever! Here we are in 2022

The same with me, Owen. I grew up with the worst excuse of a father who prefered his gambling and drinking over getting off his BIG lardarse backside to go out to work and provide for his wife and 3x son's. He was always a vile man that as i've become older, wiser and knowing that i've given my 4x son's all the love and respect that they deserve so much and my son's make me and my wife so proud, every single day. My father was violent, abusive and evil in mine and my 2x brothers lives as we grew up but once i turned 16 i was outta there as fast as i could. I took the decision to cut my father and mother right out of my life a long time ago and i'm so glad i did. They don't deserve to see how well my son's have become such amazing young men.

Oh yes it would the brilliant Jimmy and Sarah both have cracking voices and Jimmy Somerville had to work hard to get to were he is now he's a ngay man from Glasgow Scotland and back in the great 80s it was rife with hiv and aids so I think you should listen to both there voice right and great energy as well

I’ve listened to this joyous song so many times. This was the first I’ve seen the video. My heart broken that our times now are even darker than then. …the only way is with love and light…keep singing Jimmy

I love this song. I am 56 and still love it. The 1980's songs the best

I was born in the early 70's and as a child I grew up with the single by Thelma Houston. Later in the mid-80's this video by The Communards appeared on both MTV and VH1 and I initially resisted, but Jimmy's vocal won me over and I ended up loving it, even more than Thelma's disco version.

This song has it all. Great intro, amazing vocals, easy to sing along too, easy to dance too, a dramatic drop. Absolute killer, filling dancefloors at weddings and parties well past its time
