I got a party wipe on the siren once when i was new to the game and only my leper survived and killed her by himself. I honored him with the highest reward i could give: renaming him :)

Haha renaming a character is definitely a special gift many heroes do not receive.

The placement of the Heart of Darkness really depends on whether you consider the guaranteed loss of two heroes "difficulty". Once you accept that you're going to lose them no matter what, it kinda stops being a factor.

I agree with that. I was torn, but I give respect where it is due as it is technically one of the bosses that kill people. Other than that, its in D tier for sure.

Brr, I remember my first fight against the Countess. I was fighting her completely blind so my team wasn't ready for the damage, HP, and shuffling. It was a bloody massacre and when she was only at 50% of her HP bar, three of my heroes quickly died one after another, leaving just one buffed Leper with 10 hp against her. And then he seemingly went berserk because every attack the Leper did after it was critical. He was literally tearing huge pieces from her, doing 55 damage every turn. He was at the death door but survived like 5 hits in the state and finished her off. I don't remember my heart ever beating so hard in my life.

Spoilers Below: A few changes were the swine god and brigand pounder dropping. I still think they are a little harder than most of the normal bosses in the game. Also, the flesh is still sneaky even with heavy DOT strategies. I also mention the Thing from the stars being harder than the shambler, I do correct about 30 seconds later but I meant sleeper.

my favourite way of dealing with prophet was to use antiquarian's dodge buff and accuracy debuffs (accuracy on falling rocks seems to be pretty low, but i haven't looked at the number) ive had a time, where siren took my abomination, and just used his heal over and over

The prophets rubble of ruin maxed is only 103 accuracy. So it's pretty easy to get some good dodges in there.

If you want to hunt The Thing From the Stars on a daily basis, a party built around Jester's Finale works well. This boss gets an upgrade when below 45 HP%: 80% protection, 6 speed, 40% more damage, and 13% more crit: this is when he's most dangerous. But Jester's crit Finale can kill him when he's above 45% HP, bypassing this buff. Jester gets 25% more damage when he holds the trinket Dirge For The Devoured when Laudanum is in inventory. Jester's Finale gets a 20% damage boost from his district. Party members to help Jester's damage output are the Plague Doctor (Emboldening Vapours) and Man At Arms (Guard + Command). Jester works quite well against Thing From the Stars because he can heal stress from the party afterwards in other fights in the same dungeon.

It is amazing how quickly the collector can die. One stun and game over.

That shambler can be quite pesky when u aren't really looking for him. I usually build my parties around GRs, so the AOE isn't usually enough to one-shoot those tentacles... Had loss a hand full of heroes, particularly vestals, to it. Glad that the other similar boss, the collector, isn't much of an early game hindrance hehe

I preferred Vulf back when he was just a mod on PC, his trinkets are fire tho. I had a stroke when I learned that there was more than 1 mammoth Cyst in the dungeon Beating the Sleeper... I can’t describe how I felt 😂

Ugh the sleeper tell me about it. What a brutal boss as bursting it down is the only real way to defeat it.

He's a deadly boss for sure. His setup if not mitigated is one of the more deadly.

I'm disappointed that the Crew wasn't in the HELL tier together with the Fanatic I personally never fought the Fanatic because I don't have the DLC but I know many people hate him Legends say that Heave Ho still hunts me in my nightmares

Getting to and beating him are a little different. My normal party for the dungeon was vestal jester hwm/flag shield breaker. I have a video where I used a jester pd hwm and leper? If you search for it, it should be the most recent

cannon at b ? i think it only ever got to fire the first ever time i fought it xD for fnatic u just put the team u want to fight him with into treatment with crimson curse ppl

The cannon is a weird personal weakness and I often give it a higher position purely on the chance of its power. Not many bosses in the game can do what the cannon does if it is able to fire. The fight 99% of the time has no issues, but it is tedious and makes you take in high accuracy people. Also, great tip for the fanatic.

That's weird, I find the pounder to be a laughable pushover, but I hate the hag with a burning passion, I find her almost always picking my highest damage character to put in the pot and in doing so always messes up my lineup. Which leads me to my extreme fear of the fanatic, fought him 3 times, 2 wins 1 retreat from dungeon, 3 dead, I still don't know how to beat the psychopath, the best strategy for him is to never encounter him, not that you'd want to encounter him, the rewards are negligible. Also, f the thing from the stars, its design philosophy seems to be "you either bought the shieldbreaker dlc and have one in your party or you pray it kills itself before it kills your whole party".

The few successes with the fanatic involve highwayman riposte and flag using a good DOT. Since he goes 3 times in a turn his own turns can do 18 bleed damage and if he hits a riposte or two he can do about 30 to 40 damage on his own turn. This allows for wicked slices and other characters to try and focus the pyre. If you want, vestal, double Highwayman, and flag wouldn't be bad. If you think highwayman are too cheesy, I've had the leper smash the pyre or fanatic pretty hard. Overall though it's a tough fight without riposte or DOT as more turns gets countered by those mechanics.

@@HiDdeNSQuiDZGaming that does sound like a good strategy, thanks. Though as you said what makes this guy a nightmare is that it's very unlikely to be prepared for him when he does appear. That being said I should try some payback just for fun.
