Good choices for the keepers. The Squiers and the Epiphone LPS Mustard are great inexpensive ones to keep. The ones you’ve sold will make some money, while the low price ones won’t; but they have their own unique value, which is not financial. Good series.

HiDiHi Camper ! Well... I sat up straight when I saw the 'Crafter' acoustic... Don't think you have reviewed that guitar ? Mine has a 'LR Baggs' pick-up... works very well with variety of AMPs... but play mostly as an Acoustic... THE BIG THING IS... The Tone 'diff' between Spruce and Cedar Top Models ?? Am wondering what you have and am WONDERING what it sounds like ? Even a guitar illiterate friend of mine can 'hear' and appreciate the 'diff' between my Cedar Top and other Spruce Top Models when I demo them... Ha Ha.. Even my Spruce Tops sound 'diff'... but that is harder to differentiate... to them anyway... and then ? Find it 'comforting' to know that any guitar I 'do' manage to let go (?) is going to be played more than I would have spent time playing it... but is even MORE 'comforting' to REPLACE the 'one' that you just let go of ! Gonna put the kettle on ... 🤠 ...

I have just watched these back to back. Absolutely love it! I have one guitar, a 2022 Epi Les Paul Lemon Burst which is great. The Mrs is even happy with it sitting on a stand in the front room! but I have a list where I am going to try and limit myself a collection of 5, maybe 6 that are diverse in their sound. A Gibson Les Paul Jnr; Telecaster 60’s and Telecaster 70’s/72 Deluxe; Gretsch Electromatic (6 or 12 string!) possibly a Sheraton……..the most positive thing to come out of my own recent rekindled guitar obsession is that my youngest daughter came downstairs last night having been practicing on her acoustic and played White Stripes 7 Nation Army! 🤘🏼

Some guitars become long lasting friends despite their faults. Some guitars you just fall in love with, and some just become acquaintances. It is still hard to part with any of them, whatever the relationship.
@dananthony62588 ай бұрын
That’s funny. I’d pick up a les paul way before any other guitar on the planet. We all have different love affairs with these things. I was watch Mark knopfler say guitars are like characters in a play. You have to cast the right guitar for the roll. I so agree with that. As guitarist, some of us like to be a part of playing more roll than others.

LMAO! I think I said it in one of these parts 1-3, I'm having the same issue trying to decipher which ones I can comfortably sell without regret. I don't have a channel here, or a Reverb page. Just an eBay page in the USA & when ones don't sell even after reduction in price and/or with an auction or buy it now, I've taken some down as well. And like you say, "Scammers everywhere". I've regretted selling a few & can't sell some that have been with me for decades. Anyway, carry on I'm just watching this today & will be watching your newest one later today I have to catch up. It's nice to have many as they do bring us pleasure & they are nice to look at. I'm sadly paying down bills instead of re-investing in them & because of issues medically not being able to play as I used to, so they're mainly going because of that. IF I get better I'll probably be more pi**ed about some I've let go as we know some cannot be replaced. Anywho, stay well mate! Cheers!

See I've got a problem... I've probably 50 guitars.. And Epiphone is the most valuable and those are bolt on neck so not even set necks.. They are all 10 year old or obviously older.. Lots from the 80s.. Plenty of Encore.. I buy them and set them up to play as good as anything 3 or 4 times more expensive than the usual £50 or less I pay for them so.. My excuse for not selling any is as you say.. There's no resale value... 🤔

I will not be selling my 2022 LP 50's standard anytime soon, it's a bl...y great guitar. On recordings it really shows, I'm a Superstrat guy mostly, it took a while to get the real deal LP but I was not disappointed, and it's all in the wood, you can't fake that!

Whenever I pick one up, I think I might sell, it’s either to shambolic to sell, or too good to sell. So, I tend to not sell them w/o refraining from touching
@TheRicardoSanchez7 ай бұрын
I'm in a place of, "I will pay whatever it's worth to me" - meaning I'm entirely focused on what I want to play and not what I have to pay to get it. Not that price isn't a factor, but I would prob overpay for something I just want because it's meaningful to me - and the market doesn't really play much of a role in whether I buy a particular guitar. I feel it needs to be a personal thing - not a "what's the market on it" thing. That just feels wrong. Guitars are a personal thing. It should speak to you and grab you in the soul somehow. It should compel you. And if you're compelled by it, buy it and don't quibble over a few quid here or there. Buy it, have a relationship with it. Or don't.

Hi Colin, great final instalment - bravo! My friend -(a) keep the Eastmans, natch -they are gorgeous and I really do believe this initial batch will reach ''59 Gibson status' in a decade or two and (b) I'd hang on to that Gibson L50 acoustic too if I were you. If i had the money I would happily have taken 'Scratch' off your hands . . .despite the grief the Peach retailers put you thru I think it was a lovely piece and I am 100% sure the new owner is enjoying it. The rest, let them go as you see fit. FYI, in case you hadn't noticed, Eastman are now taking on Fender - the Coral Blue "S Style' is now No. 4 after SB59/v, Pomona Blonde Juliet. T 494 (? - semi acoustic 335/ Casino). They have a Tele and whatever but the Strat is the only one that grabs me . . . cheers and it's great you are letting stuff go. The way I see it you are a an SG & Tele guy - absolute opposite of me (LP & Strat) but I am happy you are hanging onto those Eastmans . . .all the best from the mystic East 😃

Only mod I've done is upgrade the wrap around tailpiece to a Faber compensated Aluminium. Its a really great, inexpensive (but v hard to find now secondhand) copy and has the correct body shape unlike modern JHS Vintage SG's. I think the word you were after was adjustable wrap around bridge (so that its fully intonatable) when describing the bridge you have in situ on your guitar.

That SG-2 is BAD ASS! Such a cool guitar! Mojo for days, yes. Personally, I enjoy modded in period and well used guitars, even if it is something that is considered classic or valuable these days. When they were modded, someone was just trying to reach a vision they had for the instrument or for the type of music they were playing, with no regard for future value, which they could hardly know anyway! Nice one.
