As someone who watched both MJ and VC, VC was the greatest highlight player ever. We definitely tried to catch Jordan highlights, but Vince WAS Sportscenter. Basketball fans, non-basketball fans would wait on Sportscenter to catch any new Vince Carter dunks. It was an incredible time. I want to say we cared as much about Vince's top 10 dunks of the year as much as the NBA champions in the early 2000s.

If my not very good memory is correct, he went down after a jumper against the Celtics, and it was revealed he had jumpers knee (I think was the name for it). I remembered thinking after he returned from healing that he was slightly less explosive looking, or maybe he was being slightly more cautious. But still was producing.

So I played against Vince Carter in high school. Although I didn't have to guard him because we ran the 2-3. Vince had 52 points, 16 rebounds, 19 dunks, 8 blocks, and 7 alley-oops. Vince had a point guard named TT Toliver that was nice! I remember him talking shit before the game. He said Vince would score 50 points and get at least 20 dunks against us! Watching him dunk on my teammates was hilarious! That year Daytona Beach Mainland won the 1995 6a state championship! I've been a fan ever since! Off note, his assistant coach end up becoming a mayor of the city!

My friend was like, " Who is that?" I told him, " Just watch."... That afternoon, Vince Carter put on a dunk show!! The crowd was going crazy even when he missed a couple. There's a kid named Ronnie Fields who used to be the dunking king here in Chicago. He played ball with Kevin Garnett in high school ( Farragut). My point is, I've never seen anyone dunk like Vince Carter.
