Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz has led the most tragic life in all of TV history. He faced countless disappointments, hardships and traumas but, thanks to his relentless optimism, he got back on his feet every single time, even after facing the most traumatic of experiences.
So today we're piecing together Dr. Doofenshmirtz's life, all the way from his mysterious birth to his old age, thanks to the countless scarring backstories he told Perry the Platypus over the course of the summer.

Hes strangley one of the most sane people in the show compared to others tbh, doesnt get paranoid around Platypuses, only ones in fedoras, he started working at 6, he keeps a self destruct on his inventions which just makes sense incase they went wrong, he ensures his daughter has a good life, even when hes at his worst, he stands back up and continues onward. He's weirdly enough wittier, more resilient and more perceptive than most of the other characters in the whole show

So sorry I missed your comment, I wish I had seen it sooner D: Even though it was never stated on the show, in an interview with 'The 2nd Dimension', Dan Povenmire confirmed that the episode takes place after the OG summer. Also, yes, as @wildstarfish3786 mentioned, in a season 2 episode Monogram reveals finding out Doof got Perry a vase for Christmas, and in the Christmas special we see Doof giving Perry that very vase, meaning the Christmas episode has to take place after the original summer

Nice backstory recap you got there lol By the way, I theorise that P&F as a series takes place over the course of two summers, which was spurred on by the fact that Hail Doofania is where we find out Roger has been elected mayor, and in What a Croc, Doof says Roger has been mayor for one year With this, I'd place Christmas Vacation, For Your Ice Only and Happy New Year between the two summers, as well as at least one of the Halloween eps (because as you said both can't have happened on the same night) I'd like to know what your thoughts on this are

Honestly, it would make a lot of sense for the show to happen on 2 different summers, for the reason you just mentioned and also because of many other inconsistencies, like: -Candace and Jeremy becoming a couple on June 21st (SBTY), and Candace's birthday happening on July 11th (Candace Loses Her Head). On Candace's birthday, those two interact as if they barely knew each other. Candace even has to tell Jeremy that it's her birthday, it would make much more sense for CLHH to happen a whole year before SBTY. -The fact that the sleigh from "PnF Christmas Vacation" appears among the replicas of Phineas and Ferb's many inventions in the second dimension movie. The Christmas episode should be happening AFTER the original summer, so the only way the sleigh could be there, is for the 2 episodes to happen in 2 different years. However, all these are minor mistakes the writers probably didn't even notice. Unfortunately, stubborn fans of the show like us often try to make sense of all these details and inconsistencies, when the writers likely don't even care xD Still, Povenmire has confirmed it's all just one excruciatingly long summer, so despite all of our speculations, the summer was meant to be just one

What I love about him is he is that passive kind of villan with Perry Where he's the type of guy to have a quick drink of lemonade or something with perry the platypus and of course then trap him. I also like his plans, which are either 1: Small to medium inconveniences for fhe tri state are 2: revenge plans because of his shitty childhood

I believe the reason they love Roger is simple. Roger isn't doof. It just feels like it fits with how his backstory always was. That and if his parents see doof as the epitome of disappointment they'd be beyond grateful to have literally anything else.

I think my favorite is the Do-Over-Inator from "Last Day Of Summer". It is potentially extremely powerful, not only for taking over the tri-state area, but also so incredibly useful in plenty of other occasions. Of course, the fact that it doesn't work properly is the cherry on top, as it led to an amazing story and a great sendoff for the original run of the show x)

@Susssyguy That's the thing, MML seems to imply that the show takes place around 2016, as you say, but Phineas and Ferb's continuity makes it almost impossible for the show to take place that late. (The reason for this mainly has to do with the episode "What do it do?", although it's a bit long to explain why, I might mention it in a video - it requires a whole lot of maths :p) So let's say that the 2 shows don't really work well together x) (another reason why I don't love MML lol) So the only way both shows can coexist in the same timeline, without too many inconsistencies, is for them both to use a floating timeline - which is a lazy solution, but it's the only one that ultimately works x)
