I don't think fran was the worse character, I found her extremely useful when you use her right. In the original she was easier to make strong, but on the remastered Switch game to use her right: Combines her license points to get cure, cuts firaga, and other basic spells. Also improve her health, magicka, magicka potency, strength and bow equipment and her armours. (If he health is lower then the other focus of heavy armour and even ones that have immunes attached to them)

You much know that the Final Fantasy series are all on different planet and stuff, so while ff13 and ff15 have all human characters it's not just because their done with the none human. It's simply because the the are no connections between game's, apart from FF7 and ff10 where Shinra first appeared in ff10. How ever the Shinra in 10 is not the same Shinra in ff7, ff7 Shinra is a descendant from the boy in ff10 who improved the mecha and developed a way to travel in space over a matter of hundreds to a thousand years later. In doing so the boy Shinra In Ff10: his grate grate grate grate grate grate grate grandson is the one to travel to a new planet where he eventually establishes the Shinra company, raping the planets life force the way his grate (×8-10) grandfather before him and his dad, said he wanted to do. Shinra from ff10 states: "there is an energy force I wish to learn how to harness it." (Basically) In which he does eventually and his descendants follow in his path, only to travel to a new planet and do the same thing. Even in ff7 it states: "the original beings who lived here." This could mean that the people ff10 had bleed their planet dry perhaps and left, only to find the planet in which ff7 takes place. Meeting people who wish to stop Shinra's descendant who is also named Shinra from doing what his family has done fore generations. (This is not a theory this has been confirmed by the creator himself.)

The Al Bhed were able to use magic... not sure where you got that they can't? Rikku of course can learn it on the sphere grid, and she can use it in X-2 though the dress sphere system. But in a more cannon reference, on the Thunder Plains, Rikku explains why she's afraid of lightning is that when she was young she was attacked by a fiend. Brother attempted to save her from the fiend by casting a lightning spell on it, but he missed and hit her instead, which implies that Brother, also an Al Bhed, can use magic.

Hey Anthony, thanks for commenting! So to clear up your comments, it was just bad wording on my part. What caused the initial divide, was that unlike those from Zanarkand, Al Bhed (then known as Bedohls) could not use Magic and learnt instead to use Machines so that they could equal the power of those who could. That may have changed over time (because as you mention, Rikku can use magic), but thousands of years before the events of the main game it was one of the overriding traits that led to there being such a divide and the Bedohls (who then became known as Al Bhed) becoming isolated after the conclusion of the Machina War. Hope that helps to clarify! ~Darryl

Tidus is a Dream Fayth or some sort of spiritual being or manifestation but his ‘ancestors’ (the people of the Original Zanarkand 1000 years ago) were Human which I’m pretty sure. Auron, he is or was Human but he is dead; he is an “Unsent”; willfully stuck between life and death. You know how souls whom refused to move on to the afterlife and become ghosts? Same goes for the Unsents but given physical forms in FFX; either in Human forms or monsters. It’s hard to explain and if I understand completely. The World of Final Fantasy X is more ‘spiritual’, almost everything: Fayths, Aeons (Summonings), Dream Zanarkand, Sin, monsters, Unsents, they are all manifestations of spirits who those died or at least their memories and given physical forms thanks to the Pyreflies that live throughout the FFX World. To those those played FFX, did you ever have your Aeons killed in battle, seeing their bodies fade away but you can still summon them again later? I think that’s also part of the FFX lore. Though Aeons can ‘die’ but put back together whenever they are summoned as long their spirits, or Fayths, in the physical world. That is until Yuna send them all away to the Farplane (the spirit world) after defeating Sin.

@BillyBob-yy6bd3 жыл бұрын
Rikku's brother who traumatized her towards lightning because he hit her with a thunder spell while trying to save her from a fiend has also entered the chat since we know for a fact he can use magic and, has no known connection to the sphere grid or dresspheres. Or Yuna being a half who can use white and summon magic canonically within the game regardless of the sphere grid or dresspheres since, well the summon magic needs no explanation, but at the djose temple she stayed up all night healing the wounded and overslept because of it. Then of course there's POTENTIALLY Rikku because of the mechanics of both games, but the canon of this is somewhat questionable given that in universe she's never described as using magic and, aside from breaking into leblancs hideout dressed as a femgoon, is always dressed as a thief. But she at least serves as a third potential candidate because the games mechanics allow it.

FF6's Mog was my favorite due to having both [Fight] command and being able to acquire 255 Defense too. Gau could also achieve this but relies on [Rage] which can be troublesome if you only want to attack once but then use magic the next turn or whatever is needed, despite both characters having a berserker mode skill. All in all, I generally gravitate towards using mascot characters with diminished stats thrown into my party because of some unique trait they offer although I also heavily favor Blue Mage types as well. Quinna thus becoming a favorite despite a somewhat hideous design. All above all, I like the Thief class as you can usually obtain more items, valuable resources and usually also rare/unique items. The amount of time I spend failing to steal items and prolonging battles and risking defeat is often high with me as the end game treasure collection trumps all.

Still playing through IV, VI, IX and X so I had to stop watching. However, with regards to Aerith she is technically not half human, she is not of another race at all, as all "non-Cetra" actually have ancestors of Cetra who gave up their ability to commune with the planet. Ancients like Aerith and Ifalna are more like practicing Cetra and therefore, all humans are just non-practicing Cetra.

No mention of FF8. Although the cast were all human, it featured one of the cutest creatures in all FFs - Moomba. Sorceresses were magically advanced humans and one of the protagonists becomes one. Also the Shumi, which inheririntly can become Moombas

Sorry, how are Rydia and other summoners not human???
@bondyaliano4 жыл бұрын
It depends on which FF. In FF4, Summoners are a considered a different race. They may look humanoid & resemble humans, but they have innate magical connection with the Espers in their blood (just like the Cetras in FF7, physically human looking, yet have innate magical connection with the planet). In FF9, the Summoners also look human & have magical connection with the Eidolons, but prominently they have a horn on their head.
@flygonkerel7813 жыл бұрын
@@bondyaliano this still does t answer how they're not human.having a magic connection doesnt change ones biology or race
@Kartissa19 күн бұрын
@@flygonkerel781 Presumably their connection is a product of biological differences. This is especially true in FF9, where summoners have HORNS that they use to communicate with Eidolons.

Blondie is human though. Sure he's a test tube baby that was slated to be converted into a magitek trooper but that obviously never happened. His DNA is 100% human because you need a human soul to create a magitek trooper. The Empire just mass produced test tube babies because it was the most efficient way to go about it.

Nanaki, Vivi, and Fran are probably my top three fav non-human playable characters and I can't wait to play as 'rat-dog' in FFVIIR2. Honestly, though, I am fine with the shift in seeing more predominantly human characters in the mainline games. For some reason, that is why I initially hated FFIX so much the first time I tried to play it back in the day. I didn't like all the non-humans. Maybe that was just because FFVIII was my first FF, though??

Another thing you have to be careful about is characterizing jobs as "advanced" versus "basic". Sure that applies in settings like the early (pre-7 Classic) ones and Tactics, which have clearly hierarchical job trees, but when you have something like FF7, FF8, FF9, or FFX, where pretty much the character IS the job and vice versa, the Job is an expression of the character's personality as much as anything else, and *for game balance they are all **_equal_** in power,* albeit slanted into specialties. Tidus's speed-fighter is equal to Yuna's White Mage/Summoner, is equal to Rikku's Thief/Alchemist (well not really, but its a nice theory), is equal to Wakka's Archer, is equal to Lulu's Black Mage is equal to Auron's Samurai. Kimahri gets to pick who to duplicate. FFX-2 kind of has more and less advanced jobs, but its not a tree, its a plot contrivance as to when the player is given access to (allowed to find or buy) the MacGuffin that lets them perform the job functions. It's _inorganic,_ 100% supplied by external equipment, not skills inherent to the character. Take the MacGuffin away, and what is the character? (aside from a gillionaire, player, and philanthropist). My point is, you have to take how the setting uses jobs into account, and different FF's are, well, different!
