If anyone has questions regarding settings, etc, please drop a comment below! And also, if anyone is wondering, the “pulsing” you see on my graphs are just due to the high shutter speed of my camera. That’s my bad for not lowering it to prevent the pulsing effect. No issue with my units!

I have the garmin echo uhd 73sv with the gt54 Transducer and love it. Bass pro has the 93sv with gt54 Transducer on sale for 30% off so $699. The 93sv with the gt56 is $1100. Is the gt56 really that much better than the gt54 that it would warrant the extra price? I'm about to pull the trigger on one so curious what you think since you have both.

In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Would you recommend a fish finder transducer? I have a spare £400. I don't really wanna spend any more Panoptix is over £1000. My question is how far in front does the fish finder go? I want to do a bit of fishing but think it may help for anchoring and going into a port. Excellent educational vid! I switched from 40 yrs of Lowrance units to Garmin last yr and Im very pleased. I have one question because I see your side scan image has the same look of 3-4' of surface clutter just to the left side of center. I'm assuming this is because I have my 56 ducer mounted a few inches to the right of centerline on my Champion bass boat. Is the ducer picking up the "wash" so to speak from the center of my boat as I am idling and displaying it as surface clutter? I don't have room between the transom and motor, since the 56 is so long, to move it directly to the centerline of my boat. Thanks and have a great Christmas!

I think the number one reason people can’t see jigs is when you have TVG on High or Medium. Took me forever to figure this out. Also when TVG is turned off the ability to size a fish goes out window. My crappie jig (when TVG is off) will sometimes be same size as crappie lol. When running TVG on medium this does not happen. Basically the hotter you run TVG the more accurate things are in size. Curious your thoughts?

I'm looking to purchase another Garmin unit for the bow so I can have them "linked up" for sharing waypoint information, etc. BPS is selling the 93sv at $699 and the 106 for $999. I know the 106 has 2 ports for adding Livescope in the future. Someone that doesn't fish is it justifiable in spending the extra money for the 106? It appears that many guys are adding Livefoot along with their Livescope transducer meaning even more money. Qestion: Is the Livefoot a neccessity for Livescope? Reason I'm asking is because I'm not one to go crazy with a lot of technology on my boat. Thanks for your help.
