First off, if you’re reading this, thank you for taking the time to do so. I appreciate that you’re willing to hear out my thought process and rationale instead of jumping to (negative) assumptions on my take on your main~. Anyways, it should go without saying that Tier Lists are ENTIRELY subjective and NOT meant to be used as factual information. This is purely for entertainment purposes. That being said, I tried my best to get this peer reviewed by credible names in the Genshin theorycrafting community while standing by my own choices based on opinion.
Furthermore, understand that it would be virtually impossible to account for every single nuance, edge case or “what if” scenario when rating a character. Also, I’m fully aware that I may have forgotten or overlooked a scenario that would elevate or undermine a character’s position on the tier list, so if you think I forgot something crucial (that more importantly, is practical and not an extreme edge case) feel free to let me know! That being said, here are some guidelines that I follow:
- Waifu over Meta ALWAYS AND FOREVER
- Tier list is NOT ordered.
- Tier list grading is based on a spectrum not a hard cutoff. In other words, a character’s placement on a tier isn’t uniform. For example, one character in tier 2 might be very close to tier 1, whereas another character in tier 2 might be very close to tier 3. Therefore if you go “I can’t believe you put X in the same tier as Y”, please keep that in mind.
- Constellations are evaluated on a case by case basis. I know most people say C6 for 4 stars and C0 for 5 stars, but since this doesn’t account for f2p/p2w status, I’m gonna be applying whatever constellations are relevant for the character that are also within reasonable limits. In other words, I assume that the hypothetical player can afford to get C6 on a 4 star, and at least like C1 or C2 on a 5 star.
- Tier list is NOT a guide for who to pull. Once again, this is just my opinion on how good and usable the character currently is. Please consult a guide channel on whether or not you should pull for them (Zy0x, Zajef77, Braxophone and Sevy are good channels to follow if you’re looking for credible info)
- Characters are graded based on general circumstances. Hyper specific situations are disregarded since that can undeservedly skew the practical usefulness of a character in their favor.
Finally I apologize in advance if I didn’t go as in depth on every character as you may have liked me to. I was trying to keep this video from going too long. Well if it comparing c6 4*s to c0 5*s I think that is fair. Supports have more use cases than hypercarrys do. That said, I don't think comparing c6 4*s to c0 5*s is fair. The cost to pull is to different. Average pulls for a rate up c0 5* is 105. Average pulls for a specific rate up 4* at c6 is around 260. So a better comparison is c3-4 4*s to c0 5*s. With the exception maybe being 4*s that appear in the shop rotation.

My personally opinion on her is that she is whale bait and a waste or resources without c6 though. You could get two rate up 5*s in the less pulls than it would take on average to get her c6.

@@Ben-vg6ox fireworks was never Beidou's best team, it's taser. Even in taser though she's very strong, personally in my Mona taser team my Beidou can do 30k per tick and at c2+ she ticks 3-5 times a second against 2 targets

This is a really balanced tier list pretty much agree with everything made and I completely agree with the whole "what if situations make someone higher" ideology but overall this list pretty much makes complete sense except for 1 thing, I dont understand why Wanderer, Xiao, and Eula are in Tier 3 while Itto is tier 2, they basically all are in the same boat as each other yet Itto is 1 tier above them and if anything Itto requires even more investment than the other 3 since he basically relies on the all geo comp with people like gorou, albedo, and zhongli while Eula, Wanderer, and Xiao can have flex spots on their teams. Thats my only nitpick tho if i were to change the list i would either knock Itto down a tier or move the other 3 up one.

I think Xiao and Wanderer's placement was the only thing I disagreed with for this whole video. I just feel like despite being Anemo DPS, they've got numbers that still outdamage the 4 star DPS. I don't think they necessarily require much investment from experience. I mean, Itto requires a very expensive team and he still managed to get to Tier 2. So I would've put Xiao and Wanderer in Tier 2 also

He's Tier 0 is pretty accurate coming from someone whose double crowned all of them except for Fischl. I would say that Zhongli should be Tier 1 at the least because hes so universal and can be used as a filler on any team comp.

With a bunch of buffs and stats you don't know. Those kind of "showcases" usually use crit fishing builds. You have a ton of damage stats at the expense of crit chance, then you keep trying until the attack crits.

Stats you don't know (probably 15% Crit rate, 300% Crit damage) + big buffs like Bennett and Mona, and an amplifying reaction like Melt or Vaporize when possible. Good for Damage Per Screenshot, bad for Damage Per Second. Sometimes even on targets that take increased damage in their weakened states, like Scaramouche who has -140% Resistances to everything except Electro (-80% in that case). Those clips are absolutely pointless. They only serve to misled people who don't know how the game works.

For Chongyun, the video says “but reverse melt isn’t as strong as forward melt.” While that’s true from a multiplier perspective, aren’t reverse reactions generally preferred over forward reactions due to elemental gauge, with the strong element being applied taking away too much of the aura, thus fewer overall reactions occurring?

Yes, he's coping. It's like Vape is strong with a Childe/Mona nuke, but that's 1 hit and it's hard to reliably do. Reverse vape and reverse melt are far superior for that very reason. However, you CAN do things like Melt Diluc with C6 Kaeya by infusing Kazuha's Q with cryo before Bennett and Diluc do their thing. It's very good and honestly I think the best setup for Diluc.

Yeah even though pyro on cryo is a 2x multiplier, it takes up 4x more (2U) of the elemental gauge Cryo on pyro is only 1.5x but it takes 0.5U of the gauage

For last abyss I wasn't able to clear floors in time with Eula, so I played hyperbloom Razor instead of her and had MUCH easier time. The state of Eula and physical as a whole makes me cry.

I think it's a pretty good list overall, but some things: -Xiao and Wanderer should probably be in the same tier as Itto and Cyno. They both have gameplay aspects that make them shine as on-fielders (Xiao's AOE/Wanderer's auto-aim etc.), and they deal very similar amounts of damage to the other DPS characters in that tier -I'd put Venti and Zhongli a tier above. Venti's kit just works really well with his Anemo element, even without things like EM or DMG% buffing. Meanwhile Zhongli decreases the difficulty of the game like no other character. On a side note, I'd put Raiden a tier below. She's broken, but she's the "balanced" type of broken. Characters like Nahida and Yelan straight up trivialize the game, so for me there's a slight distinction between Raiden and those other characters.

well, i agree with u on pretty much on every point but raiden stays in tier 0, simply cuz of the fact of just how flexible raiden actually is. her rational team is the most consistent performing team period and she even fits in pretty much any dendro-electro team, be it aggravate support or hyperbloom really well. she is the best battery in the game and her c2 makes her absurdly broken, which is attainable by f2ps as well. a c2 yelan won't be beating raiden. and nahida is quite restrictive to only dendro related teams.

Venti is “very effective” only in ventifiable enemies. That being said he is really good at what he do, like fucking good. Zhongli, well you can really play without Zhongli so he is situational. If you need him then he is definitely very reliable, i find my self not using him too much for more dps even though mhy released that overload one shot last abyss. Even a Xingqiu or Beidou is enough to compensate for missed dodge. Raiden is tier zero for the fact that she is almost usable to any team comps and you wont lose dps. She has a great synergy to almost every character.

She fits in taser, aggravate, hyperbloom, her own hypercarry team and so much more. And how tf getting over 50% better dmg at just c2 is not a big deal to lmao. At c2, she dumps almost any f2p team there is in the game in most scenarios.

I think overall your very accurate. Faruzan, xiao, and wanderer should all be in the same category, I’d move venti and zongli I think up one tier zongli personal damage is lacking but enables yoi, ganyu, and Hutao more damage and provides resistance shread while venti I think you meet in the middle with his tier placement with the 3 tiers and Dehya can go down one tier imo. Otherwise I think it’s fine 👍

Faruzan should be Tier 3, imo. Her kit design is atrocious. You either need her C6 or 300% ER for her to even be functional. That’s crazy. And the average player would most likely take several banners to get all her cons.

@@fzhs7030 Yes, but most people are not playing triple anemo in a Xiao or Wanderer team, especially Wanderer. Faruzan doesn’t just need a lot, she literally needs at least 300% with Fav Bow if she’s not C6 to be usable. Not everyone watches Genshin stuff, but multiple streamers were testing her at C0 when she first came out and it was rough. Most energy hungry characters need around 180-200. A 4-star that’s only good with maxed cons is not a good kit design. And yeah, it’s definitely arguable. Hu Tao, Ganyu, and Ayaka are all better at C0 than Wanderer. Faruzan makes Xiao more competitive than he was, certainly, but again, only when she’s maxed. Which could take most people a couple of banners. I still don’t have a single copy of Kuki and I’m a high spender.

I agree with Zhong moving up since he’s such a great general option but also Hu Tao’s best teams generally don’t use him. Xingqui’s damage reduction and healing + Hu Tao’s burst healing is more than enough defensive utility and lets you slot in Xiangling or Fischl for either better aoe coverage or overvapes.

These are also the exact changes I would make to the list. I know Vars said that even within each tier there's a spectrum, but putting Wanderer and Xiao a tier below Yuniin, Jean, Kaeya, Rosaria, and their dedicated support (Faruzan) is very questionable. Also, I feel like team survivavility is often ignored/undervalued in meta tier lists. For 90+% of Genshin's playerbase, Zhongli should be at least Tier 1. And yes, Dehya is definitely Tier 4.

11:24 For the record Electro has 11 characters (not counting MC) tied with Pyro and Cryo. But I still can see why it'd be considered saturated because (1 dendro and (2 Electro has had characters much more frequently than the other two Cryo's last 2 characters were Layla and Shenhe, with the last real DPS being Ayaka (2.0) and Pyro's last two characters were Dehya and THOMA, with their last big DPS being Yoimiya (Again 2.0) And since 2.0 we've gotten Cyno, Kuki, Yae and Raiden freaking Shogun! (also dori and sara) So it's little wonder why those two elements feel stagnant right now

I was thinking about this recently and I think stagnant is the perfect word. As far as five stars, Shenhe was the last Cryo back in 2.4 and Dehya is barely a character. There’s been so much dendro and dendro-related characters (Cyno/Nilou) this version, understandably as it’s the new element, but I’m honestly tired of it already lol. Crossing my fingers for a new Cryo five star in Fontaine.

For anyone who didn't know Dori has literally one use and that's to allow electro to swirl when you play a quicken team because her burst applies electro on your character Kazuha or anemo characters in general can swirl electro for your DPS like Keqing But that isn't enough to make her a tier 3 character

Dori has strange niche uses. For example, that burst of hers counts as your on-field taking damage. This lets your Beidou use her c4 as an on-field aggravate character. You can use her with Bennett as well which will cause overload explosions each second. She will provide a bit of healing an energy recharge. None of these niche uses are all that useful currently.

Post Faruzan Xiao is among the best dolphin and under speedrunning teams right now, with times competitive to Hyperbloom and quickbloom on musk reef. You definitely underrated him quite a bit. Alhaitham is the definitive DPS right now and should probably be either at the top of tier 1 or bottom of tier 0

@@fzhs7030 True but Miko also has better synergies. Miko + Nahida is genuinely broken and can carry an entire Abyss side on it's own. Throw in Fischl and you might as well AFK. Also honestly, the gameplay issues aren't really that bad once you get used to her. I'll be the first to admit Miko has issues, the lack of knockback resistance on her 'E' is bad design, but after playing her for awhile her gameplay issues stopped being a bother after the first week. You eventually learn to deal with them.

Game8's tier lists are handled in a threefold way. The default list is characters at their minimal optimal constellations, then there are C0 and C6 lists. Pretty useful for figuring how far I have left to go for the four-stars, and what value discrepancies there may be for the five-stars, as I have no limiteds with any constellations.

Great video and I pretty much agree with everything. I do disagree with xiao as a tier 3 though. I’m not a xiao main, but I have invested quite a bit into him so I’m definitely a bit biased, but it seemed like your main point for him is that he takes a lot of investment. While that’s true, I think most hyper carries need a lot of investment to shine, as that’s how they’re designed and not meant to be as low investment as many supports are. And if you do invest in him he’ll do very well. I’d say he’s a solid tier 2

And i really dont think xiao and wanderer deserve to be in the same tier as chongyun,klee,diluc etc (even tho u put a disclaimer at the start i cant really justify thier positions among any of the other units placed in t3 and i do think they are better than a considerable amount of characters u put at t2) Also shouldve mentioned razor's thundering furry comp as it is acually really good against aoe content. exactly what i thought. also, the only problem xiao and wandrer face is just that they don't have a good 4 star weapon for them. other than that, they r actually quite easy to built with c rate built into their accension stat. like how can somone put xiao and wanderer in the same tier as barbara, dori, klee, diluc, lyala, candace, thoms, razor , etc. both of them are significantly better than any of those who r placed with them. i can kinda understand for eula cuz she really does have many problems but vars really went quite harsh on xiao and wanderer. other than that, i think the tier list is pretty much on point.

For that matter, Itto has the advantage of not needing a C6 Gorou, but both Wanderer and Xiao "need" a C6 Faruzan. His tier list does say that all 4 stars are C6 in mind, but it's quite unrealistic for newer 4 stars like Faruzan and Mika.

To compensate for not having infinite number of tiers, you should give value to the order you put characters in every tier. The left one imshiuld be stronger than the right one. This way you can effectively rank every unit.

Just want to add about the same tier but others are more stronger than the other, so you dont need to create a lot of sub tiers. What they do is that they arrange the character from left to right which indicates that the closest one to the left is more effective character than the one in the right.

So stop nitpicking things that don't even matter in what I originally said, things like you need Raiden and Keqing to be hyper invested for it to work and her buff should have been snapshotable cause I can start nitpicking on the downsides of those 4 niche buffers too ☺️

The only time where she slots in is Raiden hypercarry, which actually fit in the niche category. Raiden is mostly played in Rational or Hyperbloom, where Sara has no place. At least Gorou can buff Itto and Noelle's DEF, which no one can, yet, and Faruzan can buff two Anemo hypercarries.

40K Hp on Zhongli is not good enough for the vultures. The only way I survived with him was dodging the big slam attacks, but that kinda defeats the purpose of a shield? Maybe 50k hp Zhongli would do the trick. Unless you have triple hp + black tassel, I think his shield isn't the indestructible, live forever shield that people say it is. For spiral floor 12 at least. I personally like running fav so I have to build some crit.

I’m so happy to have her as I love her, and she’s super fun to use especially with SoBP, but man she sucks in the new Abysses. I have a very good build, 61-206 with 139 ER and 2300 Attack without SoBP passive. Using Rosaria buffs my CR. She does around 25k Normal Attacks without buffs, but that’s just so lacking nowadays unfortunately.

Im running Raiden, Rosaria and Zhongli with all of them using fav lance, so no ER issues. Eula nuke bosses in seconds giving my 2nd team a comfort time. ☹️☹️

25:00 Many four stars have a "core" constellation. E.g. bennett c1, xiangling c4, beidou c2. One way of splitting 4 stars without going into individual constellations could just be to split them as "before best const" and "after best const". This way you can be much more clear about how xiangling is quite insufficient before c4 for 9* abyss (my personal bias being ar55 with c1 xiangling T_T)

Honestly good tier list, the only thing where I would disagree is for Xiao Eula and Wanderer. Yeah you do need a whole team for them and a lot of investment, but isn’t that the case for every good dps you put in tier 1? I mean Hu Tao will love Homa and Zhongli Bennet Yelan and needs xingqiu, same for Childe that needs Kazuha Xiangling and a ton of investment etc etc 🤔 While watching it all I think a tier « god like in a specific situation » would have been nice for examples like Venti or Nilou Édit : since no one read my 2nd comment. The difference is that even with the same amount of investment, the tier 1 dps are, most of the time, just better. But this is just me talking from my own experience, I have Hu Tao, Yoimiya, Childe, Wanderer and Eula, all with the same amount of investment and Hu Tao and Childe just do more damage than the others While I do think that Xiao should be at least tier 2 and that Wanderer could have a case, Eula should just stay at tier 3, trying to clear abyss with her is just sad

It feels like tier 2 is mainly a sub DPS/support tier - but especially putting yoi and debating putting yanfei in tier 2 I'd put Xiao and Wanderer into tier 2 as well. I know you said it's not linear, but them three being main dps I just can't see them in the same tier as diluc. Yeah, national and freeze outclass them but them being 2 - 3 tiers below those teams is kinda too much, again, especially since you out Yoimiya in tier 2. Maybe I'm biased cause my Xiao is hyper-invested (for my account standards) but he genuinely is a good character for aoe. Ig he's just way more situational tho, which is quite fair. In Triple kenki or against the two lawachurls in abyss rn though he just absolutely destroys for me.

As someone who mained Xiao since release on my main account, and is currently maining Sayu on another... I kinda prefer Sayu. She's a healer with great infusion capabilities, resulting in pretty decent damage. And it's all relatively easy to achieve. Meanwhile, Xiao is good at damage, but he can be pretty frustrating to play at times, especially when his plunge attacks throw lightwr characters out of AOE range

HI Vars, been really enjoying your videos the past few weeks while I play Genshin exploring and learning more about character builds and breaking down their kit / role. I am not here to agree or disagree with your tier list but I like hearing your as objective as possible opinion while stating some facts of why they exist in those tiers. I only started playing Genshin about 3 weeks ago but already AR 45 and hitting a massive DPS wall because I lack team compositions and good main stat artifacts But I'm not going to go past 45 yet until I definitely get more main stat artifacts, and probably pad my roster of characters out more or hyper invest into a team composition if I get the right characters. With that said Dehya, oh boy, I really liked her design and when I heard that she was going to be a playable character that's when I jumped into Genshin, head first, into a canyon with no sight if there is water below or not. So complete personal bias I would have to say Dehya is special tier for me, the one character design overall that got me to play Genshin. But if I were to objectively put her in a tier, and yes I do have her, I would say she's pretty bad. Especially since I lost her 50/50 and pulled Diluc before getting her so I got acquainted with him for a week, then got Dehya a week later and well. Let me just say Dehya plays differently and playing with her from AR30's to 45 she did not feel as good as Diluc or as powerful, and definitely was not as simple to grasp as Diluc at first but I am getting used to her. I don't regret having her on my roster as she's pretty fun to open world explore in my Dehya, Bennett, Rosaria, Barbara team. I'm nowhere near ready to complete Abyss right now but I look forward to it one day. Thank you again Vars for the videos you put up they are very well structured and thoughtful and you go beyond explaining very rationally pros and cons and you go out of your way to explain that the points you are making are not to shit on a character but to explain why some characters get 'left behind' because there are newer or just plain better characters. Im in similar boat, since i first found out how to wish it was latest raiden shogun banner (dont know where to check when it was tho) and only recently hit ar 50, but i still dont have a feeling of having good abyss teams (i cleared up to collei, next up is dreaded 2 team floor) Was lucky to get diluc on beginner banner few days after i started playing (along with bennet wich i thought was garbage at the time cos he does noodle damage, but funny thing is till this day he is still c0) and he carried my ass so far (only problem being electro that treats you as ping pong ball...) I dont feel like i have good supports for my on fielders yet and i definitly need to invest alot of time to start building supports i actualy have (like water boy, cook girl, c1 bennet that does not want to drop from cyno banner, diona cos aparently xiao needs shielder and only other options i have is noelle and rock girl, qiqi and barbara cos xiao needs healer and u need option that does not freeze you) I mean, my main dps are diluc, xiao and kaching, but i am allways lacking something that ties them to coherent team (dont have kazuha or sucrose for grouping, dont have faruzan for xiao, dont have any archon, dont have fishl, yelan (eluded me, got c2 beidou and water boy instead) and so many others) One team i am exploring is kaching, c1 lisa (could maby be swaped for c2 beidou?), yaoyao and dendro mc My main team currently is diluc, barbara or qiqi, bennet (tho with c0 mostly for nonfreeze heal) and flex spot that is sayu for overworld or xiao/kaching for instances if diluc dies Another instance team for electro instances i have been exploring is xiao, barbara, qiqi, diona (had water boy instead diona but for some reason had trouble clearing on time) cos diluc self destructs there and kaching... well One thing has to be said, my main dps are lvl 80 with lvl 80 weapons and lvl 6 talents (currently building up kaching weapon and talents, i am stoping at lvl 6 cos i dont do weekly bosses and need mats from them) while others are lvl 50 with lvl 1 talents so once i decide on abyss teams it gona be alooooooooot of grind time... (only recently started farming dilucs artifacts when i had day of not being able to farm for kaching) When i think about having to lvl talents past 6 my soul just cringes (i remember unsuccesfuly doing wolf cos of second phase and barely going trough story nerfed raiden and cryo fire lady after MANY attempts) maby i could do it now that my dps are somewhat build up but need to break that mental wall (even then i would probably spend weeks farming talent instances cos purple drop rate seems to be 0.000000000000000000001%). I still have trouble clearing max lvl instances (instances being talent, weapon, artefact dungeons), cos i lack damage for most of them (i think i barely managed to clear one but dont remember wich) Fingers crossed i get ayaka, aparently her rerun is comming up in near future? Maby i will finally have reason to try cook lady (atm she does noodle damage, does not provide any reactions for diluc and too low lvl to try national team, also dont know what to bring last slot cos i have no sucrose, fishl or raiden and i remember pairing her with kaya was just disapointing)

As for Dori I did find a use for her and she does not need much investment at all. Now to explain her use let me point out an aggravate team, Yae Miko, Kazuha, Nahida, Fischl. This is a very meta team and super strong though it is not without its own issues. For one there is no healer and many players like having the comfort of a healer in the team. Two is main issue to deal with, I like to call the Nahida problem. Nahida dendro application soo OP that it keeps wiping off electro from enemies frequently even though we got 2 electro applying their element, just about every time her elemental skill hits. Sure swapping Fischl out for Dori is going to be lower damage but Dori has a unique interaction with this team that other electro healers don't have. When her burst is active it puts a beam to the active character and heals them but at the same time applies electro aura to them too. If there is no electro on enemy Kazuha can still swirl the electro on him from Dori so he can very reliably get his electro swirl. In a nut shell Dori adds comfort of heals and ease of use to a Nahida aggravate team that uses Kazuha. just to note and confirm that tier 3 characters aren't as bad as it might seem from the name, my noelle team performs admirably well on spiral abyss (noelle c6, albedo [soon to be replaced by yun jin], ningguang c2, gorou c1) and it still manages to clear out 12th floor's each stage in reasonable time (that is, mostly below 90s, but when it takes more, the second half is always easier) you really can get a lot of job done with most of this game's characters

@@degurechaff6617 the issue is, while my noelle has around 200cv and 2200 def, she lacks ER, so ningguang has to stay. the 12% geo dmg bonus is neglible, doesn't differ much (about 2-3k dmg bonus on crits), so i get why did you think about it this way weapons they run are: noelle has redhorn, albedo cinnabar (the event weapon that fits him best), ningguag favonious codex and gorou has favonious warbow, so you can somewhat see how did i approach the problem: i sacrificed personal damage of supports to generate energy for the hypercarry, as the damage of supports would be close to none regardless

@@degurechaff6617 about him being a good battery, that was my initial thought when i pulled for him, shich sadly ended up being not true. he has a slight chance to generate 1 particle that regenerates just a little bit of energy, in which way he gets simply outclassed even by c0 geo traveller and that is something i tested. about his damage potential, his burst scales with ATK, while his skill scales off DEF, meaning i have to pick one, so i naturally have chosen DEF. he's scoring those 25k crits, with around 18k dmg on average, and that is where i've done actual calculations on a 3k def yun jin example (specifically, how much damage would she add without critting it and the 12% attack sperd contribution) and it ended up she'll give noelle more damage than albedo deals, leading to an overall higher damage. also 3k DEF is easily achievable, given she'll take albedo's artifacts and he has wll over 2.9k without gorou's buffs

I rather try to build more ER on Noelle and have a strong subdps then use a character solely for battering. My albedo does 20k+ without gorou and a 2 pc husk set. He would be better with 4pc husk but that domain is so bad for farming.

He does way better than my c0 Hutao with dragon bane at 65/160, 30k hp, 300 em and 1400 atklvl (6 Talents). I think hutao takes alot of investment. I know there's difference in takents, but still we're putting Atk, hp, crit, em, for hutao. While Wanderer only takes atk and crit. Don't you think it's low investment?

I think I can agree with most placements here… there’s a few characters I personally would’ve put higher, especially Xiao (and with him probably wanderer too) I feel like they and Cyno and Itto definitely belong in the same tier. Especially the 3 burst reliant ones. I feel like a tier between 2-3 would fit a few characters from both groups better, namely the hypercarries, Eula and element specific supports, but other than that, I agree with most things. Seeing Qiqi in the lowest tier hurts, but that’s kinda inevitable… been enjoying using her as clam support! (Gotta put that c5 to use right?)

Way back when his first kit was leaked, I was really excited that people seemed to think he was good. Then the massive nerf happened and I was somewhat disappointed because I really wanted him to be useful since I was going to pull him regardless. Then he came out and was absolutely incredible and I haven’t stopped using him ever since.

probably you didnt consider burgeon when you placed thoma. He should be at least on your tier 2 characters imo because he is the best burgeon trigger atm and only requires c4 with kitain r5 or a fav with er sand to burst consistently. Then give him as many EM as you can for like 20-30k aoe burgeon explosion every 1s

As an idea, I would be curious if it'd be worth making a video objectively ranking characters based on how worth it they are to level 90 - assuming the user uses the character being ranked. So people like Venti/Koko/Nilou/Nahida would be high ranked on the "worth to 90", but people like Fischl or Ganyu where it's less important. I don't think there's an excellent source on the subject, so making one would be great :D

My main critique is that Kuki, to me, is on the same tier as XQ, Xiangling, and the others. Pretty much constant uptime on an off-field elemental skill that moves with you, requiring almost no investment to become viable. Dori, on the other hand, pretty much is a tier 4.

@@leojustice3367 My Kuki is my best healer, and she's built with pretty much just elemental mastery and barely any focus on healing. Anyway, Kuki can absolutely be better than Raiden because when she's on your team, you don't need a specific slot for healing. She also works REALLY well with Alhaitham on his quicken teams, to the point that you can cast her E during his burst duration for maximum uptime.

Kuki's role as a healer isn't that valuable when Xingqiu alone reduces the damage you take by half and heals you too. While yes, when you're not using Xingqiu she's a lot more valuable, the case is really only with Ayato since your options are either Kokomi (a healer) or Childe (who doesn't synergize that much). So it's not nearly as valuable or universal as you make it seem Additionally, in aggravate, she's kind of not that great. Her skill is awful for aggravate, but her burst is good. It's kind of a 50/50. I'm saying Kuki isn't close to being tier 0 material, especially considering Kokomi is in tier 1 and I'd put Kuki and Kokomi in the same overall power level.

I may be personally biased but wanderer is the reason I ever 36 starred the abyss. My hu tao and ayaka with similar investment only ever got me as high as 35. I would put him in effective especially since he can be in so many types of team; taser, hyperbloom, freeze, mono teams, hypercarry, etc

Feel like you’re doing xiao a bit of injustice. While his single target dps without high investment is a bit on the lower end, I personally see his utility stemming a lot from consolidating multi-wave aoe content (e.g current vibro crystal event). Also, even his single target dps isnt too bad when considering the extra techs you can do. No big deal though, just something to consider when you placed him in the same tier as wanderer, dehya and eula..

As a scara main im sort of dissapointed, but i also get where youre coming from. Id still say that the overworld perks shouldve been considered. Also a big thing that puts scara over xiao for me is that the latter is heavily burst dependent . Which can lead to energy problems if not handled correctly, which also limits the teams a character can be used even further. And again, having to use my burst just to kill a hillicurl camp and then having to battery it up is not that great in my opinion. I feel like scara also has more teamcomp flexibility ingeneral. The range also helps alot with bosses like the wolflord or the thunder manifestation( he also doesnt knock enemies away). On the other side xiao probably has other things over scara ( i dont have him so sorry if this just sounds like xiao slander i just dont have experience with him.) Saying the two are the same is like saying yoimiya and hu tao are the same in my opinion. But hey its your opinion and i totally respect that, just wanted to put this out there.

Wanderer is above Xiao as long as you have C2+ Faruzan, since plunge attacks are too slow to keep up with Wanderer's machine gun attacks, the extra time from C2 Faruzan _slightly_ inches Wanderer ahead. Xiao mains have just been super vocal since they can't accept another Anemo DPS can do similar/more damage (without needing to burst or care about ER too)... If you're like me and have C2 Wanderer, it's not even close, the 2x damage burst is phenomenal, Xiao simply can't compete with that extra instant ~400k damage. I still want Xiao though, he is precious.

Pretty solid list. Just one thing I would add, Razor is definitely slept on in this case - there is a team that focuses on Razor and Bennett's C6, called Rainbow Razor. It allows him, along with Nahida/DMC and Xingqiu, to proc lots of blooms, Burgeoning them through infusion, as well as proccing Overloads on enemies and himself through burn and self aura. It's very effective thanks to AoE of Burgeon being large, extra damage from Overloads and XQ Vaporizes (which puts it higher than standard Hyperbloom/Burgeon setups). Also, it's very cheap to build (only requiring EM on Razor and ER on others, Deepwood on DMC/Nahida and Instructor on Bennett, along with Favonious/craftable weapons), which I think could very much put him higher on the list. He is currently the only character able to utilise Bennett's C6 in such an effective way.

Overall I think this is a pretty well thought out tier list and I'm quite impressed. Here is a clarification I wanted if you care to answer of course, I was trying to wrap my head around the idea that main dps characters not being in the tier 0 spot. To me the argument that main dps take up too much on field time to be consider tier 0 shouldn't be a dominating factor. If I'm not mistaken many of the tier 0 characters force the main dps in tier 1 to be on field for so long because they are the ones who can best utilize their skills. I'm aware you state the characters placements are uniform so one can easily argue any of the tier 1 to move to tier 0, for example Alhaitham simply because well dendro lol or Nilou as you stated because her main comp is a tier 0 (I don't have Nilou so I can't really speak much on this). A Cryo dps like Ayaka or Ganyu going in tier 1 I can see because of freeze falling off recently due to some enemies not being able to be frozen. I also wanted to know why a niche support like Sara was placed in Tier 3 while others were placed in Tier 2 but I feel I came to a conclusion. In comparison to the others in tier 2, it takes Sara c6 to be orientated a electro specific buffer while the others can already do such things at c0. Gorou buffs geo dmg/def at c0, Shenhe cryo shred/buff at c0, Yun Jin NA buff at c0 and Faruzan Anemo shred/buff at c0 as well. I would say Sara's overall attack buff should grant her leeway but perhaps that's too situational?

I think this very accurate, I’d only move Wanderer, Xiao and Layla up a tier. I saw Layla is better than diona, her shield is stronger, she has better application and she can proc TOTM which I find to slightly better than noblesse. But diona does have her em boost and healing so there’s that. Xiao and Wanderer are basically the same, they can actually both be functional drivers (if you want a more dmg route as apposed to sucrose).

The EM boost usually never matters in teams where you'd want Diona, I completely think Layla is just better as a defensive option. Her only problem is her ER issues if the shield breaks, because she only generates particles if her shield stays up You can tank like 2 hits from a boss even if she's built DPS, but then you have to play like you don't have a shield to get the same energy as you'd get from diona Even then though in freeze, why are you playing freeze against a boss and against normal enemies you'll probably only take a few hits in an entire fight But yeah, imo Layla better support than Diona and actually gives damage too Layla kinda slept on 😉 Edit: oh whoops ranted also agree with Wanderer and Xiao, they are both probably better than Itto (same general tier tho) just because they are anemo and are a lot more versatile yet still solid enough Event though Itto does better in his niche, he can only be played in geo comps

Since the whole point of running the defensive unit is that you have skill issues to begin with, I feel like playing the unit where the bad outcome is a constant threat is not great. Use case seems extremely narrow, enough skill issue to not be able to run Rosaria, but not enough skill issue to need Diona. Only just right, like three bears porridge.

Overall not a bad list, there are 2 things specificly though where the ranking just doesn't feel consistent. First, Xiao and Wanderer should be know the same tier as Itto. If the argument for the anemo dpses is that they need a lot of investment, Itto basicly is only usable in a single team and requires not only heavy investment himself but also specific teammates. Damagewise he's pretty close to them too. The second is Zhonglis placement. Yes he doesn't add the most personal damage but he sinplyfies the game to a point where he should at least be in the same tier as Kokomi and Yaoyao who only add to dps by having the right element for dps increasing reactions where as Zhongli shreds 30% res to basicly everything with 100% uptime and saves time from dodging you'd stillneed with the other 2.
