Thank you for breaking this down in a way beginners can understand! I just picked up the minilab 3 to try to get into music making as a hobby so I have no idea what I'm doing. Hey I need some help... I am a begginer user of ableton I wonder how I could make the pads of the minilab assigned on the color of the clip on ableton. Now every pad just light white... I hope you could help me thanks.

Press shift+pad once or twice to cycle through the different pad modes.

Completely useless. Double the size and add one for each knob and Fader so you know what they are without touching.

You can’t switch it off. what you can do is to change the Sleep Mode to have no lights. I hope this helps you.
