If you think Adam is going too fast and too hard to follow, watch a different one of his KZbins because he is really good at teaching at any level. He’s great at giving insight.

Perfect, thank you very much! I like that you show practical things for advanced players, for LIVE use as a keyboard player 👍👍👍

Hey, thanks for that. I’m not interested in playing in a band, but I found this video quite interesting nonetheless. I’ve always wondered what a lot of those symbols meant in a lede sheet, so now I know. It’s a very interesting system, so unlike that which you find in the classical world… I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me to build up the basic skills needed to be able to play freely while just looking at the bare bones of a tune. But, I’m looking forward to the journey to get there. Keep up your good work!

Thanks Jerry! You'll get there - the journey is the best part!

Hi Adam, thanks a lot for this great tutorial. I like the way you explain things. And it’s good to hear that you also find it hard to learn rhythm. Cause that’s still hard for me. But it’s getting better if I count as you explain it in your videos.

Really cool video, thanks! As someone who reads music but never encountered a chord chart before this is all super interesting stuff. I also love seeing the way you vary up the playing (airy section and so on), lots of stuff to go back and really dig into

Again Adam brilliant video. Really enjoyed it! The chords don't stress me. What does really deflate me is how you break them up to fit in the rhythms. I've tried arpeggiating chords which is what you do more or less but it never sounds right lol. It sounds awful actually when I attempt it. Could you do a video detailing how you do that - which notes are best to start, end on, as you arpeggiate. I think that's what you're doing anyway lol! You do it so quickly, I have to watch it over and over and still can't get it lol! Also as already mentioned below, the moving triad - it would be great if you could show us that again. Not sure if that's what you did your last video on though! I think you called it the broken chord starting on the 2nd and 5th and rolling the chord ending on the triad.. Going complicated is good but could you do it a lot slower lol. Thank you for everything you do, it really is much appreciated!

Thanks so much! Great idea about arpeggiating the notes... keep your eye out for a new video dropping in a couple of weeks!

I’ve literally just started playing the piano and learning chords. I’ve bought a few super easy piano books off of Amazon and plonking away with the left and right hands. I’m going to be looking for fillers next and how to improve. It’s all basic and a world away from the grade four classical I did when I was a kid….many years ago.

I love your videos. BTW: Did you change your main lense to fisheye-lens recently ? It appears that you want to jump out of my TV now. 😀 I prefer the more defensive lens.

Interesting! Thanks for pointing this out. I haven’t changed anything about the setup, but I think I might be a bit closer to the camera than usual. I’ll definitely try to adjust this in the upcoming videos. You might not see the change right away since we’re a few videos ahead in production. But please let me know if you notice any improvement in the next few months!

Phew Adam........too heavy goin for this novice. At first glance I would have said that every full slash on the bar would denote that I play four times each chord but realise that would be repetitive and robotic sounding. You didnt say how some of us are expected to grab those horrible extended chords without a good bit of research :)

Finally~ at 17:14-17:17, you said “and a four”, ENGLISH WORDS that are actually used in Music Theory … as opposed to babbling sounds that you dream up, like “ga ga”, etc. You are an excellent teacher; but let’s keep the language REAL, Pleeeeeaze!!!
