It IS easy to follow!!!!! Kid's home planet is destroyed by his rival/best friend who wants to leave the ordinary island life behind to go explore the rest of the multiverse. The duo's other best friend's soul/heart hides for safety in the main kid who gets a key shaped sword. He meets Donald and Goofy then the trio go into Disney movies and he locks each planet so monsters can't destroy them like his home was destroyed. Meanwhile, the bestie teams up with Maleficent and her buddies who are kidnapping Disney princesses (and Alice). Both main kid and bestie want to save the friend whose body is in a coma and soul/heart inside main kid's heart/soul, but can't agree on how to save her. A bad guy takes control over rival's body, main kid gives comatose friend's heart/soul back thus waking her up, and she turns him back into a human (the process to give her soul/heart back turned him into a monster). She gets taken home, bestie/rival finds himself in the basement of a castle, and main kid alongside Donald and Goofy enter the castle's first floor. Trio goes up all 13 floors, but go to sleep for a year and forget their whole adventure in the castle. Rival/bestie goes through the 13 floors and learns to accept his flaws without wallowing, a memory-manipulating kid and Mickey helping him. During the year that main kid & Donald & Goofy are asleep, main kid's technically twin technically son (he came to existence when main kid turned into a monster) hangs out with a cult before quitting at the end because he's angry at his main buddy in the cult always keeping secrets from him. His other main buddy killed herself to help main kid (Sora) get his memories back. All the cult members are killed in castle and a year later one by one, but come back to life when it's all over. The old man who gave the rival/bestie idea to destroy his home in the first place recruits them all into an evil team which on a mountanoius desert fights main kid, his two besties, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and a few other friends who had been the old man's victims 11-12 years ago. The old man and his team die, but main kid dies in the process of saving his friends' lives. The end.

Kingdom Hearts is basically its own cinematic universe before the MCU was even a thing but for video games. It introduced "optional" storylines that were not the big event games before MCU did tv shows XD

Kingdom Hearts was such a fun crossover between Disney and Final Fantasy. I think games that came after 2 were necessary, allowing us to see where certain characters came from, such as Xehanort, the Lingering Will, etc.

Five Nights at Freddy's and Kingdom Hearts gave me two nickels for each time a universe that involves cartoony mascot characters has a convoluted mostly bittersweet storyline where everything connects back together and it involves people's souls, spirits, hearts, etc. being brought back inevitably in some way.

In Kingdom Hearts 3, Larxene mentioned that she was looking for the new princesses of heart since the original seven completed their goal the first time. She believed Elsa to be one of them. However, the organization was stupid. The new seven hearts were not princesses at all. Instead, the new 7 were the 7 Guardians of Light. Badabing badaboom!

Idc if some players will find KH confusing or that the story has expanded too much. We started thinking that it was Only a FF and Disney crossover, and it grow to be more than that. If you really put your mind to it, KH it’s the best video game-anime on a console. More crazy thing is, you have to master different ways of playing in order to keep up the story, or at least enjoy it. I can’t wait to see how this ends, but also I want more games of KH

Especially when 2 other countries got the chance to play several beta tests for Android and iOS. I’d rather want my own experience than watching KZbinrs play it. Plus the question remains, will it disappear into thin air once the storyline is fully told, just like KHUx and Dark Road, or will it remain like Pokémon Go? I’d say this script was created and read by people with no more than a passing familiarity with the games (if that) but they never claim to be experts so that’s good. I would say anyone planning to play the games, there are better summaries that are more accurate and not even longer than this video. My initial claim was true but at least WM was upfront about not being experts. Though I’d prefer if they’d worded their intro as “we’re iust reading a script compiled of online summaries and are not first hand familiar with the story or games” as that much is pretty apparent, tho they didn’t get anything wrong plot wise that I could tell

The best part is nobody’s make absolutely no freaking sense. If a nobody is the body and soul left behind then how does Roxas even exist if Sora gets his heart back? Technically now sora has all 3 again yet there is a second version of his body and soul created because he lost his heart for a moment. Then to top that off hc kh fans will do any mental gymnastics to justify that like it makes sense.

It is explained in DDD nobodies can grow a heart, but anyways Roxas still has a heart (Ventus, that's why they look alike) and is connected to Sora's heart. This is why he's also using Sora's body and soul. Not hard to understand, you just can't apply the general nobody/heartless rules to Namine, Roxas, Ventus, Vanitas, Xion... Because their process of being created was different.

My hope for Kingdom Hearts 4 is that Sora and Kairi’s relationship moves even further as there are signs throughout the franchise that their bond is much more mutual as of ‘their love for each other’. Also, Disney and Square Enix should give Kairi more character development, and give her back ‘the Princess of hearts’ entitlement as we have seen in KH 1.

We need a remake bad. I played and loved the first game but was only able to afford one PS2. My mother was able to get that for us before the bank took our house and that's all we had for years. They moved the platforms for the next games and I couldn't fucking continue. I'm much older now and can provide for myself and my family. I love this franchise but I was unable to partake in it's story because of their decisions to move the game between platforms. I want to get back into it but it's all over the place now.. I don't know where to start.

I learned before this game of Square's story-telling mastery (and muddling) Final Fantasy VI, VII, Xenogears....damn Xenogears, Trigger and Cross.....I could go on. Now granted those are one-off's....most of them.....but the depth of their story is what is the prelude to a series now spanning 20+ years. It is the easiest mess of a story to follow along with. Providing you have played all of the games. I have minus the mobile BS. (Just watch folks do that one KZbin. Saves time)

This video is actually poorly done, it would help if the person doing it actually tried to care about doing it instead of acting as if he couldnt be bothered to make this video. Ive played the games and even the ones i couldn't , seen videos to follow along. Its a bit complicated if you just hop around like this guy is here but actually really easy to follow if you actually flesh out whats going on and the reasons behind it. The one doing this video couldn't care less so maybe next time change the person doing it to someone who actually cares enough to give you the information you need to follow along. Way better ones on KZbin, and recommend you skip this and watch one of them. Way more attention to detail and love for the way they construct the video. This was god awful , meanwhile the games are pretty damn great

If there needs to be a video about explaining the story, it already says a lot. The story has been dragged too much for no reason. In order to take it all in you had to wait a long time for the newest game and to play it on a different platform. And while the new game explained some of the story it also created even more confusion. Multiple Xehanorts threw me off and eventually all this killed my interest in the game that I used to love.
