He dies for good in Super Metroid. Other M Ridley is an accidental clone by the Federation, Ridley X in Fusion was a copy created by an X parasite of another clone that was kept frozen on the space station.

In all honesty I personally believe that the final boss in Metroid Zero Mission was meant to portray to the players that Ridley is not only of organic and mechanical parts but is completely clone-able by the space pirates so that at any point in time they can always have a commanding force. So I always presume that every Ridlet seen in every game is pretty much either a complete or incomplete clone. Ridley in Super Metroid, back on Zebes, was the closest to a complete clone. Then gets re-cloned in Other M acidentally, as well as in Fusion. Methinks, like Mother Brain, Ridley has some kind of psycho-electronic connection to space pirates as a commanding force in a similar fashion as to how Mother Brain controls Metroid database facilities. Space Pirates are ALL modified organic-cyborg creatures. They consistently fuse themselves with tech so it's no surprise that ridley is a bio-mechanical lifeform.

To explain Ridley he clearly states in either the manga or one of the game's books that even if destroyed his cells can feed off of other organic material to bring himself back (Much like cell in dragon ball Z). You also see this in metroid other M, but more to the point of eating and growing. Mother brain also calls them simple beasts and I remember somewhere saying how all the bosses have a high IQ. Dragoon is most likely a mother shrimp thing as the young bury it after it is killed in super metroid. To explain Ganon/Ganondorf if you played Skyward sword you'd know how Demise cursed the goddess that no matter what they did he would eventually return to be born again and rise against the supposed good side. This is currently seen in the Gerudo's as they are all female yet once every so often they produce a male or who knows maybe they kill the males when born. Pay attention as Ganon is the product of reality. In real life most people believe that they can breed out a certain behaviour or people. I saw this most prominent in the tv show wayward pines. Where they tried to only allow people who did not cause problems to breed. You cannot breed out DEFIANCE it is a natural part of each human. So even if you killed Ganon in one era who is to say that another person may rise and defy once again? Every person that defies is utterly the same spirit as the last much like we have seen in starwars. Each person may have a different container like the hero may be a chicken, a criminal, a superhero, they may be black, Asian, white, but the spirit remains the same. The only thing you get as follows are different degrees of characters. Like in Batman you have Joker, Riddler, Bain, Croc, Two-face, and Mr, Freeze. They are all the same enemy only different degrees based on ability and motivations. Thus they literally are the same spirit of Defiance.

The lore of the game is really cool. This video made a good dent, but there are still some more things that are of important mention/just interesting in general. Some of those things are just what are the evolutions a Metroid goes through, how Samus even defeated the Omega Metroid in Metroid Fusion, what's up with the Etechoons and Dachoras (those things the video mentions she rescued), and what Ridley's lifecycle looks like.

Honestly Samus can destroy entire galactic federation platoons by herself. She is pretty overpowered as a character, all her gadgets, suit and stuff makes her almost imprevious to damage such as witnessed with the Dark Samus. I am calling it, the galactic federation has some leader or something that is pretty corrupted and they are the villians that represent a threat even bigger than space pirates. Space pirates biggest feats were on zebes and Tallon IV, they cloned metroids, revived their own kin and similars, but the galactic federation cloned metroids on mass scale, they even managed to evolve their forms up to queen metroid, they wanted to capture SA-X for "military purposes", recreated mother brain and they are tyring to replicate Samus's arsenal although they have failed to do a true version of her weapons.

But I dont know how they improved the Federation Force between Prime 3 andFusion. And we need to know that they have bluprints ( Data Room in Fusion ) of the Ice Beam, Plasma Beam, Power Bombs and probably still have some SA-X parts. Like Samus said only some parts were sent to the BSL. Multiple Federation SA-X could kill Samus.

There are 2 different things that Metroid could go to. Her death battle with Sylux and her confrontation with the Galactic Federation after Fusion. Those are the 2 choices Nintendo has for the next main metroid title. Hope they get it right this time.

+Logan Couture idk, I mean as a Metroid loyal I wouldn't be upset at them trying to expand on the gameplay. It doesn't have to be more of the same, everyone's was scared of Prime but it turned out to be a really good thing. I think the engine on its own in Other M had potential, it just had really bad direction and a narrative focus with the narrative being essentially bad fan fiction written by a middle schooler. However if they refined some of the gameplay elements (take out the recharge, take out the missles, remove the linearity and promote exploration, etc) the formula on its own has a lot of potential to be fun.

3D third person can work well still, it's up to the designers to do a better job than they did with Other M. I still have yet to play it, but for what I've seen is allright but with big flaws in controls (somewhat) too much linearity (unlike Fusion that, while still linear, handled it much better and exploration was still a thing) and story issues (primarily the authorization crap, that just overlaps with bad design sometimes)

How? If anything it makes EVEN more sense! If you saw your parents eaten alive in front of you as a young child at an age that's most important for developmental health, would it not effect you in any way? Not only that, but PTSD doesn't just magically go away and is EXTREMELY debillatating, soldiers diagnosed with it aren't allowed to fight afterwards, so Samus overcoming it at all enough to fight Ridley is no less than superhuman.

+elvampe13 Because not all of the federation is corrupt, that was just a secret thing a group within the federation did behind their backs, but Samus wasn't able to expose it in Other M, though she did at the end of Fusion which is why Adam mentions how there will be investigations and tribunals because of this. You could even say that Samus kept working with the federation in hopes of exposing them.

You do realise this timeline is wrong? Prime 1 in phazon mines has a space pirate log of mentioning the destruction of SR388 which forced them to breed metroids on other similar planets... On top of that... Ridley stayed himself for Zero Mission, Samus returns, and super metroid.. After sm the space pirates upgraded him in prime (logs in crashed frigate) prove that as well. Despite other M being hated, it came after samus returns. Theres a lot of proof against this timeline in the video when the game itself tells you its: Zero Mission > Samus Returns > Other M > Super Metroid > Fusion > Prime 1 > Hunters > P2 > P3 > Also why else would you have the option to use the fusion suit in prime 1? Lol.

You got the Metroid Fusion section incorrect. She called the computer by her XO's Name in a fit of rage when it detained her, THEN it DOWNLOADED the XO's personality profile from the Galactic Federation Central Database and installed it, because computerized XO's had been recently being programmed to do exactly that because of situations exactly like the one she found herself in causing the subordinates to disagree with their XO, which caused them to become deserters, which then caused them to join the Space Pirates, it was a Space Pirates Countermeasure which destroyed SR388 and the X-Parasites. That was not the only segment you got wrong either, I know of at least 3 other games you guys got wrong, in addition to the lack of mention of the Creatures she saved (TWICE) driving her ship to safety when it came under Attack in the hangar, in addition to the fact that she set the collision course BEFORE confronting the SAX which had specifically shown up to correct the course, as it WANTED to get captured by the federation, specifically so it could spread throughout the Galaxy, which is exactly what Samus Aran feared was it's goal (she was right). On top of all of that, you got 3 other games in the series wrong as well.

It suddenly occurred to me: I don't think Adam was actually contemptuous of Samus (during Other M), despite how he treated her. I think he was *terrified* of how she would react to discovering what had been going on on the bottle ship. Considering she had literally just *blown up a planet* to defeat Ridley, Mother Brain, and the metroids once and for all,* I suspect he wanted to avoid Samus discovering a reborn Ridley, a backup copy of Mother Brain, and a bunch of cloned metroids all on the same Galactic Federation ship. In other words, I believe Adam was trying to get Samus to leave in order to prevent her from possibly becoming hostile towards the Federation. Not even the GF wants to face The Hunter. *As far as I'm aware, the GF didn't know about Samus' bond with the infant metroid.

I'm pretty sure the GF does know about Samus' bond with the infant metroid. That was what inspired them to try and create something that could have a motherly bond with metroids. That was why MB was given a human form, to try and recreate what Samus had.

Always felt that the next true Metroid game should take place after Metroid Fusion because there was always a theory about the life of Samus being on the run from the Galactic Federation after she destroyed that research facility that was cloning the Metroids. Always felt like there should be another adventure for Samus so she can seek it out on her own. Who knows even with Adam gone, there is always Anthony from the Galactic Federation that could try to cover for her if the Federation Police got close to her trail.

The new director of IP for the series, who also worked on the other Prime games, said it was something he wanted to do for years, and that production started way back on the original DS but didn't have the power to play smoothly. You've got to remember that Other M is before Fusion in the timeline - one of the last thing Samus says during her end-sequence narration is this: "One of them will understand. One of them must." She was quoting what Adam would say during times like that precisely for the reason that she caused a big ruckus. So canon? I'm not sure, but it is likely.

It probably isn't canon yet, but it is an inevitability. Whatever high-ranking Galactic Federation official is heading the corrupt arm of the Federation is probably going to convince the rest of the Galactic Federation that Samus is a major threat and will turn them against her, which will most likely lead Samus to seek out whatever remains of the Chozo for refuge while she figures out what her next move will be.

The prime series, and by extension the federation force game, take place before Metroid II. Which is kinda hard to believe honestly, I always thought Metroid II took place a short time after the first game, and I don't think metroids would be considered the galaxy's greatest threat after the Phazon incident (and metroids being fairly harmless in those games too). But its possible that Federation force takes place some other time though, but then the Prime subtitle says otherwise.

Okay, so I guess we’ll know in the next few months, but here’s my thought on the upcoming Metroid Dread. Also Nintendo deleted my theory, so I might be on to something. I guess we’ll know in a few months. I think during the federations research and investigations of all the Space Pirates technologies, after Samus wiped them out. That they came upon their plan of “Project Dread” and put it in motion to create the deadliest Bio Weapon known to the universe. But they needed the only remaining DNA which Samus has, being she now has a mixture of Chozo, Metroid, and even X DNA. We know the federation has a history of cloning extinct spices, and creating/producing Bio Weapons in secret. “Other M”. And I think Samus is going to sacrifice herself to stop the spread of any Bio Weapons that use any form of “X, Metroid, or Chozo” DNA once and for all. they’ve always based Metroid off the (Alien) saga. And In Alien 3 Ripley sacrifices herself To save humanity, because she has a Queen Alien in her. This is why it’s an instant (Game Over) if any of the EMMI’s catch you. They’re extracting what they need from Samus.

I just "love it" when so called Metroid fans are so quick to claim Samus' PTSD in Other M as "bad writing" when the very characteristic of Samus having PTSD was revealed in 1994, and then later in the canonical Metroid Manga, which was years before Other M was a thought. I also just "love it" when so-called critics claim "Samus should be over her PTSD" when the reality of PTSD is that "you can never get over PTSD," that actual Psychologists and former US Soldiers suffering from PTSD had to get involved with this, learn Samus' history, from the K2-L incident to the her PTSD reaction to Ridley in Other M, shown the scene in question, and have all cited the the scene depicted a realistic reaction from Samus from the unexpected sight of the Ridley, who murdered her mother in front of her when she was but a toddler, resurrected. Interesting enough, they also cited that the scene in Metroid Prime 3 Corruption where, just after the Meta Ridley boss fight, where she shoves her Arm Cannon down Ridley's throat, and fired, was another clear sign of Samus' PTSD. They also cited nemerous times that it is can get over PTSD, one can only overcome it temporarily, especially when prepared to face a trigger, when informed about fans claiming Samus should have gotten over her PTSD.

Dude........I'm in total agreement about that! I missed out on a lot of the Metroid story line after/during Prime on the gamecube (never finished the game and hardly remember it) but from what I've heard and read, its kind of a big jumbled mess...... This video did clear some of the fog, but not to complete clarity. A 2 to 3 hour, Nintendo directed film, could clear all the clouds and very likely, re-amp the greatness and passion this game once had.

If they could make it similar to Star Wars or something, it has a good chance of being a great movie. One thing they should at least do with the first movie is have Samus wear her suit for the whole movie and then she could reveal her face or something at the end. TL;DR = I want a new game where Samus fights the Federations as "the bad guys." I've been waiting for a game after fusion where Samus has to take on the Federation. Those past games have clued us on the fact that the Federation is dipping in waters similar to how the pirates have been doing. What if Samus finds out that the Federation has managed to get a hold of something that gets to weaponize the metroids without problems (unlike Other M and Fusion, where things get out of control) and seeing that she works alone, she decides it's time to stop the Federation. The game would go like this: So you have to take on a Federation's Orbiting Military Space Station, destroying it and taking Samus with it down to the planet it is orbiting where they are based in with a Biological Lab (that she didn't know). She can't escape the crash loses her powers (as always) and the crash is what causes the whole place to go chaotic, releasing biological weapons. Knowing this is an opportunity to get more metroids, space pirates come down to infiltrate the destroyed lab and swipe them, but you have to fight them too. So it becomes a 3 way battle: against the fed, the pirates and nature. Finally realizing that the Chozo had built an entire subterranian facility (like they always do), you have access to it because of the destruction of the bases and because it is the only access point to progress to another zone. Of course, this once desolate place begins getting invaded by the 3 parties -- the ruins becoming a developing zone any time you travel through it and then further below.

Aw, the video didn't try explaining where the Metroid Prime creature came from. The most plausible theory is that one of the Metroids brought to Tallon IV by Space Pirates escaped and ''phazed'' through the Chozo's Temple barrier after evolving into the ghost-like Phazon Metroid, and inside is where it further evolved into the Prime creature.

Even as a stand alone title it is completely nonsensical, and if you try to work it into Metroid cannon the issue just compounds upon itself and drags the whole thing down. Really, Nintendo's wisest move concerning the lore is to just pretend like Other M never happened, because it is terrible for a million different reasons (almost literally).

Other M created plot holes and problems through the canon lore, but it did breathe life into a character that has remained voiceless and without personality longer than any other character in Video game history, save for Gordon Freeman or Link. While the attempt may have been somewhat dismal, I appreciated the idea of trying to make Samus seem more human than she appears behind all that armor.

eh i dunno, if you skip the Prime trilogy, Metroid zero mission was already an outstanding remake of the original metroid, and while it doesnt count officially, AM2R was an outstanding remake of Metroid 2, and then Super Metroid and Fusion are both still outstanding. If they are going to put a real effort into something i'd rather it be a true sequel in the timeline. But with that being said, if they decided to remake all 4 of the 2D games with updated graphics possibly in 2.5D on the 3DS or Switch, I would not be opposed to it.
